Can ambient lighting be added to models that do not come with it originally?
Not really. There are tons of aftermarket led ambient lighting kits you could add though. Obviously won't be well integrated with the infotainment though

Is there a seperate switch to turn it on and off, or is it turned on within your driver settings on the Limited? I have a feeling it is the settings.

How do you turn on the interior lights? When you open the door at night our interior lights do not come on. We have an SEL.

On the overhead console area by the map lights, make sure the button that looks like a vehicle with an open door is depressed (it's toward the passenger side). If it isn't pushed in, your dome lights will not illuminate when your doors are open.

I fiber optic lighting makes for a good interior light source. I found a unit on Amazon for $9 came with lighting unit and 10' clear light cable. The tubing is thin enough to press into seams, cut to whatever length and its just bright enough to light up a dark floor. It's almost like those cheap neon bracelets they sell for the 4th.
I only have 1 unit for the front and current plugged into the 12v outlet with a switch until I find time to hardwire it to a switched source. I'll probably get another unit for the back and just used the USB power source or interior light

Hi, can you include the amazon link please. That link points somewhere else.

How large is the lighting unit? Will it light more than 1 fiber optic cable? Did you have a direct link to what you bought?
