There are tons of issues with windshields chipping and cracking out of the blue and worse issues if you drive in windy dust storm or areas where they use a lot of sand and salt causing pitting of the windshield like it has been sand blasted, very similar issues with the paint (all colors) being pitted, or chipping from small debris that don’t cause issues with other models, (soft paint untempered glass has been suggested)

I believe I've seen one or two people on the different palisade forums mention getting a rock chip/crack in their windshield.

I've seen quite a few more reference the telluride having this problem. Not sure if that means it's far more common on the telluride or what.

I follow several forums (Palisade & Telluride) and to say there are "tons" would be an exaggeration in my opinion. Sporadic mentions for the Palisade and more mentions with the Telluride is probably more accurate.

I had a slight paint issue with mine. There was some peeling on the driver's side front fender by the orange reflector.

I showed my service advisor and they got it into paint in less than a week. Apart from that, so far, so good.

We had ours for less than a week, then we noticed a chip middle passenger upper windshield.

We have chip / star with nobody notice anything hitting windshield, Passenger line of site, 1,300 miles. My 2016 MX-5 GT has many specs without crack / star and it has 97k on it. This windshield should not crack this easily and I will be reporting it to Hyundai corporate to see if they will cover my $500 deductible.

Some Tellurides have a similar problem and Kia sent the attached letter to owners (don't know if all owners or not).

Plastic so sometimes the paint just doesnt bond as well. Looks like I need to keep an eye on mine just in case. Joys of having paint matched fender trim vs unpainted on lower trims.

Found the forum based upon my newly chipped windshield cracked at highway speed by freezing rain or small pebble.

My wife just called to tell me on the way to work tonight she thought a bug or small pebble hit the windshield and it's got a 2 inch crack. It's a replacement windshield because a pebble cracked it before the first payment and spread from left to right over night

Had my palisade for 2weeks and have already had to have my windshield replaced due to a rock chip. Glass looked really thin so I asked the glass technician about it. He said it has to pass certain tests but it is thinner. Hopefully not a recurring problem because it is a hassle but didn't cost anything with no deductible

More Telluride sales at this point also, and as a result, more on the road. It was sold months ahead of the Palisade though.

Search any vehicle including the Palisade, and it is just scary all the complaints out there. Quite a few cracked windshields reported by Palisade owners.

I have a Palisade. 7,800 miles so far. No windshield issues but the paint is terrible. Razor thin application and many little chips.
I live in rural Pa and winter in Fla. No hard driving. Like the vehicle
E alot but my guess is the paint will not look good in a few years. Color is Lunar silver

I have probably 4 chips and they all spread across the whole windshield, and 2 of them I swear nothing even got my window. They crack so easily
