Just upgraded today. First time I have upgraded since getting the car in May. Took almost 3 hours to upgrade via USB... Maps took almost the entire amount of time. The other aspects took about 15 min.
Went from:
Maps: Version 12.47.44.510.205.3 to 13.47.44.680.201.
Firmware: LX2.USA.292.190807.MICOM.D to LX2.USA.301.200316.MICOM.D
SW Ver: LX2.USA.S5W_M.V003.002.190813 to LX2.USA.S5W_M.V004.001.200702
Oh my! looks like that's our Palisade too! 3 hours? you had your car running the whole time you were updating?

FYI, the notice that the update is unavailable has been extended by 1 extra day to Sep 1, which is today. Maybe they'll reinstate it tomorrow.

Before anyone asks: the files made available today are different from last week's. Files' date, time and checksums are different from last week. But the version number appears to be identical (some of them have the date and time appended to the version and you can see the difference there).

Thanks for the updates. I'll wait a few days to see if there are any more issues.

How long does the update take once in the Vehicle?

I did the update that was withdrawn last week. I did the update release today. This one updated System, Modem and uCon for me. The Maps update took no time at all. This update was much quicker for me. They must have left some system stuff off of the withdrawn update.

There is no reason to do anything other than the quick update. Don’t waste your time.

That doesn’t matter. I updated my fiancé’s Palisade last week to the newest software. It hadn’t been updated previously and it was one of the first ones off the line early last summer. It was in a similar situation to yours.

Quick update, less than 30 mins.

Of course feel free to do whatever makes you comfortable. But don’t complain about how long it takes! 😊😊

wish you chimed in way earlier. when you chimed in i already picked GENERAL UPDATE and of course could not turn back... 3 hours later, there was no difference with the system info! it went back to giving me a choice between quick update and general update again. of course i learned my lesson and picked the quick update and plus 25 minutes later system information was updated. what the heck!!

so im wondering what's in a GENERAL UPDATE then?

I said the same thing last week when this update first came out:
Sounds like you didn’t do the “quick update.” It gets you exactly the same result and is usually <30 mins. Mine took about that long earlier today when I did it.
I don’t really know what the difference is or why there are two different options in the first place. I just was informed by the documentation when I did the 14.0 update earlier this year on my Telluride to do the quick update. As far as I’m aware, I think the only function of the “general” update is for if the quick one fails somehow. If you can get to the same result faster, why not? I’ve been trying to tell everyone who will listen both here and on the Telluride forum (and on Facebook, too). Makes me sad every time I see someone who says they have been waiting hours for no extra benefit.

This is the exact wording regarding the “quick update.”

In other words, it's a non-answer, lol.

I believe that the quick update only updates what is needed, whereas the general update will update everything, even if it hasn't changed. I think you can use your infotainment system during the general update and not the quick update, but don't quote me on that.

you are very correct. you cannot use the infotainment with QUICK UPDATE but with the GENERAL UPDATE you can which i also thought was weird.

I wish I had read this thread before I started my “general” update! It’s been an hour and the bar has moved about an inch! Ugh. Quick update for sure next time! Thanks for the tips everyone!

Just thought I would let everyone know that almost 3 hours later the general update finished, and the software version including everything else was the same as before. Same as was previously mentioned. I will try the quick update tomorrow and hopefully that will work.
