Has anyone got the phone projection feature to work

I have an android phone and when I plug it into the USB port all I get is Android Auto. What is the difference between that and "Phone Projection"? I read the description in the manual and it doesn't work that way for me. Do I need to disable Android Auto? Or does phone projection for Android mean Android Auto?

Nope that’s what they’re talking about. Your infotainment screen just pulls up the android auto or CarPlay onto it giving you limited access to some of the things on your phone.
