I recently test drove a 2021 Palisade Limited that was equipped with 20” rims and a set of 250/50R Hankook tires.
while driving the vehicle I noticed a lot of road noise at speeds of 30 to 80 mph. Naturally the higher the speed the more pronounced it became.
I was surprised, because all the reviews I read said that the Palisade was ultra quiet and handled bumps easily.
I also test drove the Telluride with 20” rims and was equipped with 250/55R Pirelli tires. There was 0 to very little road noise under the same situation. The vehicle was very quiet inside, contrary to a lot of reviews.
Has anyone experienced this with their Palisade.

“Road noise” seems fairly subjective. I have an SEL fwd with 20” wheels and Hankook tires and don’t notice any real road noise. You may want to check the air pressure in the tires.

Hey OP, maybe it was quiet because 250 tires don't exist. Ha ha. Just messing with you. Seriously, I was also disappointed at the road noise of the Palisade (super crappy asphalt all around the desert southwest, where I live and travel), but unfortunately, it's one of the quietest vehicles, at least according to 'Alex on Autos', who keeps track of that on every vehicle he tests. The problem with cabin noise is there are 2 main kinds: wind, and road/tire noise. Asian manufacturers put more emphasis on wind noise, and German ones on road noise. Therefore, Asian vehicles don't do as good when you drive them over crappy roads. Wish this Alex guy had a crappy road to test for that, but he apparently doesn't. Bottom line is to have a quieter vehicle, we'd have to spend upwards of 20 grand more, for a German vehicle like a Mercedes or BMW, AND opt for their optional $1K acoustic package, which provides extra noise insulation. I honestly can't justify that, so will try to live with the somewhat noisy cabin on the Palisade. And if it becomes unbearable, maybe change the tires early for better ones. Those Korean ones are absolute garbage for that.

There are definitely some tires known for a smooth and quiet ride. They are not cheap, and may not last as long as other tires, but they are available.

I immediately replaced my OEM Hankook tires w/ Michelin Defender 255's and noticed a significant reduction in road noise...just sayin

I know objectionable sound and noise is subjective, but I find my Pali with Bridgestones has very little road noise. It’s so quiet that what I do notice is any wind noise that is there. When I listen for it, the wind noise level is probably lower than in my cheaper midsize sedans, but it’s more noticeable because the cabin is very hushed overall from the lack of road and tire noise. That’s my experience at least.
When my Bridgestones wear out I will look for either Michelin or the Pirelli tire others have tried.

My 2020 Limited came with Bridgestone’s and is super quiet. Tires make a huge difference.

Since these tires are 1/2" wider and 3 pounds heavier, did you notice any decrease in gas mileage?

Would you kindly let us know which one's those are?
