Hey Gang, first time poster as I recently found the group. My wife and I recently placed a deposit down on a 2022 Calligraphy at MSRP. After calling multiple dealerships across the country, most of whom are selling 2021's for $4k-$8k above MSRP, we feel lucky to have found the exact color and trim we were looking for. I've never paid full MSRP on a car before, but considering the current market conditions we decided to pull the trigger. We were quoted a delivery time of no later than September. We were also told that Hyundai is waiting to move the last of the 2021's before fully releasing the 2022 models.

I will post the 2022 Dealer Brochure that we received in a separate thread. We look forward to our delivery and to learning as much as possible from the forum. Thanks for having us!

What and where dealer?

Holler Hyundai in Winter Park, FL (near Orlando). I searched dozens of dealers and they were the only one I found that had 2022 models listed on their website. They didn’t have the color we were looking for listed online but luckily they have one coming in so we were able to place a deposit down to reserve it. I dealt with the sales manager, Jose Ramirez, and he was great to work with.

Thank you..I am about an hour east...not buying today...but like to be prepared..most are way over msrp.
My 2020...is doing fine...but ya never know what the future brings..
They probably would not give me top dollar for my trade off of msrp...but I could always sell it. To Caravana or others..

Your Palisade will likely be arriving from Korea at the Hyundai Port of Entry in Brunswick GA, and then trucked to your dealer. Hopefully the ship does better than this one that was sending Hyundai's built in Alabama to the Middle East in 2019:

I ordered my new palisade limited today! Anyone have an idea how long it will take? I am so excited!

What you did is request a Limited (and I presume a certain color). The unit you receive will not be built specifically to your order. The distributor in the US (Hyundai Motor America or HMA) will get the request from the dealer to have a Limited (with your color preference) allocated to the dealer that has already been ordered by HMA from the factory in Korea, or may be a unit that is already on its way from Korea (by ship), or may already be at a Hyundai port of entry waiting to go to dealers. So there is no way to know for sure how long it will take, and it depends on how many other dealers (and their customers) want the same trim level and color.

So it could take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months, depending on a lot of factors.

I can can only provide some insight from my experience. I was specifically looking for a Calligraphy with AWD (I live in Chicago and AWD is a must up here), but I'm not much of a stickler for interior/exterior colors, so I was flexible on that part. None of the dealers in my area had one in stock, but a couple of them had ones on the way. Seemed like only one AWD Calligraphy was allocated to each of the dealers I talked to, and most of them wanted 4-5K over MSRP. They all said they were about 2-4 weeks out (probably on a boat or stuck in a port somewhere). I finally located one for 2K over MSRP and jumped on it. I put a $500 deposit down for them to hold it for me, and 2 weeks later it was at the dealership. I caught an Uber out there and took delivery the same day it arrived after they finished their clean up and inspection. If it's not already built and on the way, it could be quite a while.

One of the things I was concerned about was that the September Military/Veteran cash back incentive from Hyundai expired before I was able to take delivery, and I had heard that you're generally only eligible for the manufacturer incentives if they're available at time of delivery, but my dealer gave it to me anyway, so I'm not sure if that's different with Hyundai, or my dealer was nice enough to eat it, or what, but it all worked out. I'm sure yours will be worth the wait!

All of those Hyundai deals have expiration dates, but they might issue new ones soon after the old ones expire. But since you paid $2K over MSRP, the dealer may have "eaten" it. But that is some mightily fine eating for Hyundai dealers who are historically used to selling cars at about 8% below MSRP.
