I am in the market for a new SUV, a long time Toyota Highlander (2011) owner but don't like the shape of the latest generation. I hate the idea of a sunroof and will not own a vehicle with one so that severely limits my trim levels. Seems car manufacturers throw that into all the upper end models to justify a whopping price increase.. given an option I think most would take the bells and whistles without a sunroof , but that's just me. The Palisade has high ratings and the info center looks at least like it was designed a bit into the dash, contrary to most other brands where it looks like it was glued in/on.. just because they needed to stick it someplace.
I will browse/lurk a bit to see what complaint/issues owners have and hopefully see some issues/comments from Canadians.
Thanks for your time.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! I know what you mean about the sunroofs and now panoramic roofs. Manufacturers seem to make this mandatory at the top levels. Not sure why - not everybody wants one. Another oddity is 500 inch wheels for the top end luxury models.

I agree 100% regarding the sunroof..or roofs as is the case with my Limited..shade is closed all of the time.
Info center is great and we'll designed...good luck..

Welcome to the forum
Like steelers I just keep mine closed and don't even know it is there.
Had to have it to get the trim level I wanted for the extra features.
Well worth getting the trim you want even if it has a sun roof or 2

I've had my 2020 Ultimate (Canadian name for highest model) for 1.5 years with absolutely no problems. Of course, due to Covid, it's only got 5400km on it! That includes a trip to Sault Ste. Marie from Ottawa, and back (1700km). As with the others, my sunroof has not been used, other than to try it once to make sure it worked.
I even replaced the backup and license plate bulbs with LED, as others here have done.
It is a great SUV and gets admiring looks all the time. I really wanted a Telluride at the time (April 2020), but there were none available in the area. My next door neighbour has one now, and I'm glad I bought the Palisade instead. Also, the orange daytime running lights look horrible on the Telluride.
I hope you choose the Palisade. You won't regret it.

Purchased ours in Jan 2021, only 6,500 miles. The only complaint we have about the vehicle is the lack of power folding outside mirrors. Gas mileage has been better than we expected at an all around average of about 23.5 mpg. That's more of an issue now than it was at purchase time.

I agree, although I've seen many with white DRLs that turn orange for the turn-signals, so that might be easily remedied with some kind of switchbacks. However, they're still ugly IMO. Ha ha. The only thing I like on the Telluride better than the Palisade is the option of an integrated hitch; that's it. Everything on the Palisade looks more unique, more classy, and and more elegant. And as far as features, it has a lot more features than the Telluride. The only feature on the Telluride I like better than the Palisade is the power folding mirrors. So just those 2 things overall.
