I had one working. Followed the steps to add another, and it works, but the first stopped working. Fixed it, and the second stopped working.

Started looking around, and I found one resource that said holding the first and third buttons clears out everything. So, just go to step 2 then, right? Wrong... I can hold the Homelink button and the garage door opener button, and the light blinks fast then slow, but doesn't program.

So... how do you program multiple garage door openers?

If I am not mistaken, the first step has you clear existing codes. Just pickup with programming and not clear the system. I have two separate garage doors programmed. I programmed mine initially then my father-in-laws.

I've done that... just walked up with a new remote and held it and the button to be programmed. The red light flashes fast, then slow... but the Homelink button does not operate the garage door. It will if I do the clear-the programming thing, but then, of course, my first remote is gone.

Once you program the button, then you have to program the opener. Did you forget about that? After clearing it, I programmed all 3 with zero issues.

What are you doing trying to pair them both to the same homelink button?

Huh??? You're suggesting I do something to the garage door opener, which works just fine?

What, exactly, do you suggest I do?

Everytime you do the clear buttons, it will knock out all door setups.
You must have two different doors you are trying to open, or a door
and a gate.
Set up for the one door to be opened by which ever homelink button you
want it setup for. Do not clear the setup again when doing the second door
for a different homelink button.
I have two garage door openers for the same door. had a hard time programming both to my door opener
That had to be done on the garage door opener it's self. But then only one homelink button is used, But only
after both openers were programmed in to my garage door opener itself.
I then had to do the gate to another homelink button
Most of us are not sure exactly what you are trying to do
Please explain how many different garage doors you are opening.
If only one door then you only need to use the one door opener fob to set up the homelink button.
That sets up to the opener itself not a fob. fob is only used for the setup after that the homelink buttons work

Read the opener manual :). You can buy a remote for your garage opener brand almost anywhere, but it'd be useless unless it's programmed to your opener. Didn't you know that? Anyway, there's a button up there on the opener you need to press (some openers have more than 1 button, so you need to know which one to press), then quickly go your car and press the programmed button until opener 'clicks'/flashes, then release. Press again, and it should activate the door. Hope this helps.

What he said. That’s all I did and no issue. I did however only program Homelink button.

My garage door remote already works. I've said that consistently, so I'm puzzled why you're suggesting I reprogram the working remote.

It's the Homelink in my car I'm having trouble with, not any garage door opener or the remotes for them.

And I can get one garage door opening with Homelink at a time. I cannot get both working.

Take a video of the entire process because I don’t think anyone here has been able to understand what is going wrong. I, like others, have had no problems programming 2 different doors on 2 different Homelink buttons.

Of course your current remote works... BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY PROGRAMMED. You can program A LOT of remotes to an opener. As I said, READ YOUR OPENER MANUAL, so you understand how they work :). My opener has at least 10 remotes programmed (plus a keypad outside the garage), since I've bought and sold several vehicles the last 3 years (and yes, I always clear the Homelink and nav before selling them). You can pair at least 20 remotes to an opener, before you need to clear the memory, and start over (on some, the first one gets erased instead). By the way, you need to do that when you buy a used house.
