Hello fellow Palisade owners-

I purchased the limited palisade this weekend and I can’t figure how to get the “Leading Vehicle Departure Alert” to work.

I’ve enabled it in the menu but I’ve stand behind cars, they have taken off and nothing, no beep or visual alert.

is there something else I need to do? Or am I just crazy?

thanks in adavnce

Dave

I also have a limited that I got a week ago and can't get this feature to work! I've turned it on and off and tried it many times. Wondering if it's faulty.

This feature works with Smart Cruise Control (SCC). When SCC is active, it can bring the car to a full stop by itself (when there is traffic, for example). If the car remains stopped for less than 3 seconds, it will start again by itself. If the car has to stop for more than 3 seconds, a message shows up on the display that you'll need to press the gas pedal or use the cruise control switches (SET and RES) to get the car to start moving again. In that scenario (i.e. stopped more than 3 seconds), if the car in front start moving, but you don't react, you'll get the leading vehicle departure warning on the screen telling you to get going by pressing the gas pedal or using the SET or RES buttons.

Bottom line, this is something that works with the SCC. This isn't designed to work all the time.

And for what it's worth, this is all explained in the manual.

Thank you, one of the reasons I asked also was that we purchased my wife a 2020 sonata at the same time.

The manual says the same thing about it on her car, but it works without SCC being enabled, she can be sitting behind a car at the lights and if it takes off and is about a car length away it dings her.

Hence I was wondering why SCC needs to be enabled in the palisade for it to work?

That is what I was hoping this feature would be! My 7 year old was happy for it to have this feature because sometimes I'll tell him to tell me when the car in front of us goes if I don't notice haha He's been asking when the car would tell me. Bummer it only works in that instance.

Yes, I have read the same about the Sonata. Slightly newer software is probably the reason. You never know, we might see it on the Palisade at some point.

Umm... maybe watch the road? ;)

I do! But it would be a nice feature so you don't get honked at at lights ever. That's what I figured this feature was when I heard it mentioned in a YouTube video (that's how it was referred to - that it would tell you at a light or something).

Agree, that’s how it was explained to me by the sales person.

My palisade was in for some work on it today and I asked the service guys, and they to were on the understanding that it should just warn you without having to enable SCC and where surprised that is the only way it works.

They mentioned it might be changed in a future software update but I won’t hold my breath. Just wanted to update you guys.
