It is not unusual for tires on new cars to be over-inflated, especially if they have been shipped from overseas. The dealer is supposed to check the tire pressure as part of dealer prep, but they don't always do it.
Check your tire pressure against the recommended pressure on the sticker in the drivers door jamb. Be sure to measure the "cold tire pressure" when the vehicle has not been driven for several hours. Tires get hotter when the vehicle has been driven, due to rapid flexing of the tread which heats up the air inside the tire. When a gas heats up, and the volume remains the same, the air pressure increases. Warm tire pressure is usually 3-4 PSI higher than cold tire pressure.
