Wind noise and buffering in Hyundai Palisade

How are people documenting this with Hyundai if dealers aren't taking action (recalled TSB).
While my wind noise isn't nearly as bad as others, it is lounder than expected and I want to protect myself with the 1-year lemon law requirement.

Can dealerships make a note in my file? Not sure I only want to trust that.
I guess I need to know this also, however with the foam fix, I hardly notice any wind noise. Maybe an occasional whistle, but it is muted for the most part. The foam was in it at the point of our delivery, and I haven't pulled it to see if it gets worse. I can only assume it does, other wise I wouldn't think they would have inserted it in our window channel. Unless it was some type of preventative maintenance, due to the fact that it was a well known issue and a TSB at the time. Perhaps the foam was even placed in it at the port of entry, as I had heard some Palisades were. Maybe it was also just a certain batch of VINs that it is affecting or certain build dates. We should all start listing our build dates, so maybe we can start piecing this together. Our SEL was 11/19/19.

Just test drive the car at highway speeds before you take delivery. If the noise is there, refuse to take the car. (Assuming a fix hasn't been sent out in the next month)

yeah, that's my plan now. I have to fly from northern cal to southern cal to get it, and it would be an 8 hr drive home, but if this car is whistling at highways speed then I'll refuse it and just fly home. thanks!

Why not just ask the salesperson to test drive it...may save you a trip...and if the salesperson lies ...tell him or her your are going to be VERY
ANGRY....IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAM

hahahah. yeah, call me a jerk, but i don't necessarily trust anyone to listen as intently for the wind noise as I will, especially someone who is making money from me buying a car off him or her. hahaha

but i will ask. that's a good idea too

also, it seems that some owners are developing the noise after a couple of weeks of ownership, so either the honeymoon period has deafened people's hearing or the noise develops over time?

We just got a new Palisade limited 2 weeks ago and my wife started noticing the wind noise from passenger door
Well, at least you didn't have to hear it. 😂
Congrats on your new SUV though. Welcome to the group.

Just think, if we didn't have this to talk about, then this might be a really boring forum.

Where at in the passenger door was she hearing the noise, A-piller close to the mirror or B-pillar? Ours has a couple small pieces of foam inserted at the front edge of the window channel, that does an excellent job of muting the noise for the most part. At least until Hyundai is able to provide a permanent fix.

Yes it does but we can’t drive around with the heat or A/C off especially when it’s 100 degrees in Texas. Plus we shouldn’t have to!
I had an appointment this Saturday but based on what I've heard here I dont even want to go waste my time. I love driving my palisade limited and I'm not about to leave it there fo weeks for them to tell me I have to wait for Hyundai

I have filed a case with Hyundai since I have had mine in for weeks at a time, you for sure need to have it documented in the service department for the wind noise. If they could even test drive it hear it and document it on your service file.

Sorry to hear thist
Not a fun way to own a new car ..

Got a call from corporate today saying to bring it back in and they were going to try a new fix... I’m a little nervous to bring it in not knowing what this new fix is. Anyone else hear anything about a new process?

Not yet, but guessing you will let us know. 😂

What's the worst that could happen at this point? Pretty sure you could ask them before you brought it in. Surely they would tell you what the plan is before surgery.

Is anybody else experiencing a very loud wind noise on the driver side of the car at higher speeds. Mine is so loud it hurts my ears. I am going to take it to the dealer, but wondered if anyone else was experiencing it or took it into the dealer.
Yes did they fix yours?

I wish they could find a way to fix this, the noise is horrible. I’m hoping the case I opened with Hyundai gets something going, the guy I spoke to from Hyundai said he hasn’t had any complaints so I’m not sure if consumers are calling Hyundai directly after the dealership service department can’t fix it. I filed a claim they can either find a way to fix it or buy my vehicle back and because I’m not paying that much for vehicle not to be able to enjoy it.

My sister in law and I both have a Limited AWD. My build date was 11/29/19. I don’t know when hers was but she just got hers a couple weeks ago. Neither one of us have issues with the whistling noise. Though every now and then I feel like I hear wind coming thru near the B pillar but it’s not all the time. The road noise and when cars pass sometimes seems a bit loud but nothing that bothers me too much. Sorry to hear so many people have this horrible wind and whistling noise. Hopefully Hyundai can come out with a permanent fix for everyone soon. Love my Palisade!
