Drive mode knob back lit or not ?

Have the Limited for about a week and noticed that the knob itself does not show the driving modes. Looking at some pictures I do see the different drive modes lit on the knob. Are they supposed to show on the knob as well or not ?

It’s only lit on AWD cars which have the extra Snow mode and locking differential. It is not lit on FWD cards.

Does anyone know if we can swap out the knob from a fwd with one from an awd? and would it light up? I kind like the look of the knob lighting up.

That likely wouldn’t work for several reasons. The knobs operate differently (FWD only allows for a flick left or right whereas the AWD turns through the different modes, with indentations for each one along the way.

Even if you went through the hassle of putting in the new knob and somehow got it to light up appropriately, you would still have the extra snow mode and AWD lock button that you could never use.
