I don't know how, but occasionally the front windshield wipers come on while I am driving. Just one swipe. My hands are on the wheel and not touching anything that I am aware of. Controls are off. And now I am concerned about going thru a car wash if they come on and get broken. What might I be doing? My previous car was 17 years old. None of this new tech. Thanks.

welcome to the forum. this has been discussed in other threads. I would say you should turn the auto feature off when taking it through a car wash.

if you leave it on Auto all the time then it will fire off once in awhile. I leave mine off when it's not rainy season.

Thank You Raggedy1. I am new (to forum). And so is my car. But my husband is also driving it. I will check to make sure he doesn't fiddle with the controls.

Yeah, in a car wash they will constantly fire. Hahah

Curious to know if the rear windshield wiper is also rain sensing?

Whoops lost my reply. Hi Craig. No, the rear wiper seems to be behaving. However, since the storm this week, the front wipers DO NOT TURN OFF AT ALL while car is running. Cannot vary speed. Called dealer but cannot help over phone so I have appointment Monday morning. So it is parked til then. Worry about etching the glass so I think I will have to keep squirting the wiper fluid constantly during drive there. Will post results then.

The rear wiper is not rain-sensing. It can be set to intermittent or continuous.

It will automatically operate, however, if you engage reverse when the front wipers are moving and you have the setting enabled in user settings.

You'll enjoy all the helpful (I'll admit I'm of the age where I want to say "guys") members here. Enjoy! Do you know about the Allstate bonus circle (I think that's the name) where you should get $250 for filling it out?

Allstate BonusDrive!

And just to highlight, you do not have to be a customer of Allstate to apply for and get the rebate!

I got an email on Tuesday saying I was approved and would be getting my check in 8-10 weeks. I couldn't buy my palisade any sooner because of a minor fiasco with the Illinois Secretary of State's office and my application for Disabled Veteran plates and the temporary tags that were on my trade in vehicle that were past the expiration date.

At least you'll get the $250, and thank you for your service, Popeye! Navy?

Yes, thanks Popeye for your service

I used to watch Popeye on our black and white Tv with my Dad. Bluto, Olive Oyl, Wimpy! Classic stuff

I yam what I yam

Loved it! I like spinach, but don't have his biceps, lol.

Serving was an honor. Thank you for your support. And yes ma'am, I was in the Navy. My Father-in-law started calling me that when my wife and I first got married. It kinda stuck and now all the grandkids call me that.

My uncle was career navy. He loved it! It's great that your grandkids have such a special name for you!

I turn my wipers completely off I live in az so I don’t need them on, but they still come on occasionally sometimes once a day and sometimes 2-3 times while driving

So you're saying that you have them OFF and not Auto, and yet they still fire off?

then you have a defect.
