So, not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but my Palisade's adaptive cruise at it's CLOSEST setting is slowing down wayyy early. I'd say 10 car lengths with one blue block showing in the display. It also SURGES like a bat outta hell into kickdown mode when I pull into the passing lane to go around traffic in the cruising lane. Anyone else experiencing this?

There is an option for selecting the responsiveness/aggressiveness of how the ACC responds. This is different than the distance it tries to hold. Sounds like you have it set on the most aggressive setting.

Thanks for this I had forgotten that there is a setting for this, and I had it set to normal, which (for me) was way to aggressive, I turned it down, and it make a BIG difference. This also made a difference on how aggressive it gained speed when setting the speed to a higher valve using the cruise lever, it is very smooth now.

I wish all cars with acc had the option to adjust that

Set to the minimum setting or whatever its called. I'll report back later after being on a thruway to test it out. Thanks again for letting me know about this setting.

Am I correct that you are referring to the SCC Reaction setting on page 5-129 of the manual? Mine is also set to Fast so I will have to try the other settings. The choices are Fast, Normal, and Slow.

Mine was set at “Fast”. Which is way to ...well, Fast! I changed to “slow”. Haven’t tested it yet.

Correct. Having it set to fast means it reacts earlier and more aggressively, so you see it start acting with a big gap and being jerky.

I run mine in slow and it's incredibly smooth. Best acc system I have used.

Will setting it to slow affect the effectiveness if someone cuts you off or something like that. I think ours is set to normal, but will move it to slow. Nice to know it is such a good system. What setting does everyone reccomend for the other systems? FCA, BSM, Cross Traffic, etc?

I am certainly not trying to sound snarky, but we still have to drive the car. Aids are just that, aids to help, not control everything.

Yeah, that's funny because I agree with you in that we should all still be "driving" our car. There are a lot of Tesla owners who are pre-paid and waiting for Musk to deliver a FSD (full self driving) software package. Owners and would-be owners saying that FSD will change the world of driving and all those without it will regret not having it.
I'm waiting for a Model Y, and there was no way I was going to pay 7k dollars for FSD, and it doesn't even exist yet even if I wanted it. Oh, but I can pre-pay for it and lock in the 7k dollar price because it will go up in price once it gets released. Here is where I roll my eyes...

Anyway, I enjoy the ACC on my Palisade. I flew 500 miles to buy the car and really enjoyed how using ACC decreases the fatigue factor in driving long distances.

Yep, maybe because I am older, but no way in h-e-double hockey sticks would I trust FSD. I don't own a single electrical device that hasn't, at some point, hiccuped. I sure wouldn't care for that hiccup in my FSD car to be while I was going 75 MPH on I-25 headed out of Denver. I like driving aids, but my trust is in myself to make the decisions behind the wheel.

Will be a night and day difference. I love how customizable the Hyundai sensing safety systems are.

I love to drive, that is not a problem at all. Matter of fact, my car is a manual. The Palisade is my wife's daily.
