When towing my utility trailer with my motorcycle on it whether I start off with my Blind Spot Detection on or off I get a message that the Blind Spot Detection system has been deactivated. I didn't have this problem with my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and wondered if anyone can give me any advise or what their experience has been. Palisade does a good job towing but this is frustrating. Thanks

I haven't towed with it yet (buying a Kendon motorcycle trailer tomorrow), but sounds like Hyundai automatically deactivates it when connecting a trailer to the harness. And I agree they shouldn't have done that, since with narrow trailers like the one I'm going to buy (a single ride-up one), it could still work. And if it doesn't, we can just turn the damn thing off, so makes no sense to deactivate it automatically, but guess it is what it is. And yes, I'll be disappointed too, since it works quite well with my Pali, and I can see it right on the heads-up display. Oh well. But thank you for the heads up.

I tow a small bass boat and a 6'x8' snowmobile trailer with mine. Never had the Blind spot monitoring system not work. I do wish that it would turn off the rear parking sensors when a trailer is plugged in though

You can turn them off with the dash button, no? Or is it just for the front ones? There's no way to turn off the rearview camera, but all sensors should be quiet when the dash button lights up. I'll give it a try one of these days :).

You can turn off the rear parking sensors but you have to do it each and every time you place the car in reverse. Annoying as all get out if you are trying to get a small trailer into a tight spot with a 90 degree turn and need to do numerous back and forths.
