No link, as mentioned I toured some auto manufacturing facilities and they all performed that as a final stage as the vehicle exits the building to the shipping lots. I didn't see any tail pipe sniffer or anything that I thought was related to emissions but there might have been? One of the jobs was to drive each vehicle off the production line and through this dyno type device and out the door. They had it automated to where the vehicle didn't need to be tethered with ratchet type straps.Do you have a link for that? Never heard of it, unless they are doing some emission testing.
I know that Corvette engines are broken-in at the factory, I believe before they are installed, so doesn't count against the odometer reading. They may do some quality checking, but I find it hard to believe that there is some federal law requiring that. There may be corporate regulations that require the testing. No link, as mentioned I toured some auto manufacturing facilities and they all performed that as a final stage as the vehicle exits the building to the shipping lots. I toured these factories - Nissan in Tennessee, Corvette in Kentucky, Toyota in Japan and I was curious about it and each location explained it the same way that there was some sort of regulation that required that and it was part of a quality control process otherwise they wouldn't bother. I also toured several motorcycle manufacturing factories but saw no such testing there.
I found this with a quick google search, there may be more info I didn't find?

I don’t know and am starting to be sorry I shared what I was told. I thought it was cool to see the process as I saw it and I never stopped any of the tours to say “wait, what law or regulations are you telling me about?” I just accepted it and have gone on.I know that Corvette engines are broken-in at the factory, I believe before they are installed, so doesn't count against the odometer reading. I didn't say they didn't do it. I was just wondering if there is really some federal law that requires it. Maybe there is, but I would like to see some published reference on the Internet or something.I don’t know and am starting to be sorry I shared what I was told. I saw and heard what I did first hand with my own ears and am not speculating or starting any sort of conspiracy theory.
I have not been to any Hyundai factories and don’t know that it was done to our Palisades.
I am moving on and won’t be back to this subject.
