Disable rear hatch proximity open

Is there a way to disable rear hatch automatically opening when the key is near it?

I sometimes tow a trailer and when trying to hook up the trailer the rear hatch opens and runs into the trailer. :-(

Turn it off.

If you have a Limited or Calligraphy, it’s in your center infotainment display.

Setup > vehicle > door > smart liftgate

Otherwise, it it is in your instrument cluster settings if you have a lower model.
