tonight I was traveling at 40 MPH with one vehicle about 40 yards in the other lane of the same direction and my vehicle slowed down and emergency braking light came up on the dash. I haven't used any emergency braking in the past. Hopefully this will not happen again. I currently am have issues with my blind side system, which is awaiting parts.

I don't think it unreasonable to think the two might be related. Similar systems, if one is broken, maybe that might suggest other systems may be having trouble interpreting the received information. Just a guess, let us know!

could be possible

Mine did a similar thing. In my case I was going about 55mph on the right right lane. No one to my rear or to my right side (shoulder). The center console suddenly gave me a warning saying "Emergency Braking" with the red curved lines on the passenger rear side of the vehicle and a warning symbol. Then the vehicle suddenly hit the brakes for a second and it let go after the message disappeared....

Imagine what would have happened if there WAS a vehicle behind me.

The picture I attached is from an example in the manual except in my case there's no vehicle behind and the curved lines are only on back right side.
