Hi All,

I was excited to get my Palisade this weekend, but it seems like the order delivery has now changed to TBD. Does anyone know what this means?

The largest dealer in town posts a spreadsheet with all of their units allocated and statuses to their website once a week. I am not using this dealer as pricing is not good, but dug into this to see if I could find a pattern, and I came to the conclusion that all Palisades that came on the same ship as mine (Dignity Ace on the 15th) in Moonlight Cloud are now TBD. There are a few from the same ship in different colors that have been processed out of the port. That leads me to believe they must be inspecting for something paint related, and I guess I will never find out, but just find it curious.

Anyone with similar experience that may be able to tell me how long the wait is going to be?

Over the last year or so, many ships have been stacked up offshore near ports of entry, waiting for other ships to unload and open up a slot at the dock. This is part of the global supply chain problem. This can cascade, as Hyundai Glovis vessels from South Korea to North America typically make more than one stop.

There are probably also shortages of truck drivers to deliver autos from a Hyundai port of entry to dealers. Last I heard, there were 80,000 job openings for truck drivers in the USA. Many trucking companies are offering $10K sign-on bonuses, and Walmart has raised the starting pay for truck drivers to between $95K - $110K per year. I would guess that it takes some experience to load, deliver, and offload a vehicle transport trailer, unlike a normal van trailer where the recipient of the shipment unloads the truck themselves, and the truck driver is only responsible for backing up the truck to the loading dock.
