As is with many cars, you can buy the warranty from any dealership and it's good at all dealerships.
For the people that see value in having one, I just completed a purchase of the 10 year/100,000 mile platinum no deductible warranty from Burlington Hyundai/Subaru in Burlington Vermont. All done via email with business manager Crystal Careau. My price was $1395 (no tax).

Again, some people see value in it, some don't.

For those that hold on to their cars and want the peace of mind.... hope this helps.

Hello,

Yes, Crystal Careau at Burlington Hyundai/Subaru in Burlington Vermont is a pleasure to do business with. $1398 for 10/100K B2B and piece of mind. The stealership I purchased the Palisade from did not offer Hyundai's warranty and pushes 3rd party one at high markup. No surprise, and expected, but unprofessional.

I am confident the Palisade will be mechanically sound. I am apprehensive about the 14 processors and cameras, forward looking RADAR, Infotainment system, etc that get expensive to replace over time. The Palisade is a nice vehicle I plan to keep for awhile.

Do you by chance have her contact or email? Can you possibly message it to me in here? Thank you!

Konrad there helped me. $1598 for 10/120k, which worked better for me. 100k would be more like 7.5-8 years. No tax!

Gents I am strongly considering acquiring the extended warranty. has anyone of you confirm with a service department after the warranty purchase has been completed that is indeed 10/120k for the Hyundai platinum. just would like to confirm as is not advertised on the Hyundai website.

alrighty, I just called a local dealer - not the one I purchased from. He confirmed from last 8 of my VIN that I have the Hyundai platinum, 120 mo/120k miles. Purchased 1/22/20. So looks good it is in their system.

I have never bought an extended warranty (except Apple Care on a few computers) but this one almost seems like a no-brainer-. Given a choice: same two cars on the lot, pay ~$1500 more for one that has a 120k mi warranty v. one with 60k, I think I'd pick the 120k version every time.

I did the same! So easy. Our dealership offered the 10/100 for 2400. It was nice to not have to try and bargain that down! We picked up our Limited AWD last week. Love it!

I also purchased the 10 year/120,000 miles zero deductible Hyundai Platinum Protection plan from Crystal today for $1598 complete. It couldn't have been easier and Crystal couldn't have been nicer. I originally messed up and gave her the wrong VIN a couple of days ago. When I alerted her of this, she simply voided the original warranty contract and emailed me a new warranty contract. This is the very best price I've found anywhere for this plan from Hyundai, and Crystal is great!

I'm still waiting for my new Hyundai Palisade Limited that I ordered to arrive at my local dealership, fingers crossed soon!

But I've been worried about all the tech in the car and I wanted to make sure I had an extended warranty lined up.

I called Burlington Hyundai yesterday and worked with Konrad and got the quote for the 10 year/120,000 Platinum plan for $1598 total. It seems to be really easy and he was very nice. Planning on wrapping that up the moment we get home from picking it up.

His number is 802-448-3836 and his e-mail is konrad@burlingtoncars.com

Am I correct in assuming that this type of insurance plan doesn't kick in until your regular 5 year 60,000 mile plan has expired? How long after taking ownership of your new ride do you have to get this Platinum plan? Thanks in advance for any info.

No, you're not correct. 10y/120,000 miles starts from day 1. It's not 5y from the standard warranty + 10y from the extended one = 15y. That would be nice, but that's not how that works.

The reason to buy it early is that the cost of that extended warranty is going to go up as you put miles on your car. But technically, you can buy it at any time.

Also, different parts have different warranties, so the extended warranty can come into play as soon as 1y into ownership. Take a look at this the warranty booklet that came with your car and that you should read:

Eric,
Thanks for that great reply. I have all the manuals next to me, but didn't get to that one yet. I lot to read and understand. I've had the car for a few weeks and only about 600 miles on it now. Another decision to make.

Not sure why people are raving about paying almost $1,600 for an extended warranty that they would probably not end up using, especially if proper maintenance is done on the vehicle. Instead put that money in a high yield savings account and use it for that rainy day when it comes. This defeats the purpose of Hyundai’s slogan “America’s Best Warranty”* with an asterisk, vehicles don’t last forever and nowadays unless it’s a lemon, you will get past 120k with no major issues that are already covered by the included warranty that comes with the vehicle, but to each their own if it helps you sleep better at night. I get it’s a first year model, if it gets that bad, I’m not keeping it, trade it in let the next person decide to buy it with the known issues if it comes to that.

I was drawn to Hyundai because of their 10/100K warranty when I bought my first Hyundai, a 2014 Sonata Hybrid. Traded it in less than 2 years later for a 2017 Santa Fe which I then kept for 3 1/2 years when traded in for the 2020 Palisade. So much for a long warranty. I also have a 2005 Camry with over 350K miles. Can't kill it.

Some people want it, some don't.
Tech is expensive when it goes south these days. An extended warranty has benefited me a few times with past vehicles.

Caveat: If you pay the right price for the warranty.

For the past 47 years, I've always done all of the work on my cars myself and I've never purchased an extended warranty. We keep all of our vehicles until they die, and I've never taken one in for service or repair unless it was a recall situation. I plan on continuing this trend with my Palisade Limited AWD, but with all of these electronics and safety features, I feel the extended warranty is prudent. Again, we keep em until they die.

for me it was simple: if there were two cars on a lot the same but one came with a 60k mi warranty, and for $1500 more 120k mi warranty, I would probably choose the 120k every time, especially with the new tech.
