- 21 Calligraphy AWD Rainforest
I had targeted a Limited AWD Rainforest but was glad to get the Calligraphy due to availability (upper trim/AWS/Rainforest seems to be a rare combination). Arrived 18 days after being ordered. Very pleased with the color, which seems to be the greenest on a sunny day.

One valuable lesson I applied was to negotiate over email and not at the dealership. I visited a dealer for a test drive a few weeks before searching in earnest. Once I messaged (a different) dealer it was about 6 hours until we reached an agreement. Some of the conversation was over the phone. I’d advise anyone who might feel pressure over the phone to just gather information and ask to respond by email. Additionally, resist the dealer’s attempt to provide a high-dollar protection package. The MSRP should be the starting point of the negotiation.
The ordering process had some oddities. The first dealer was willing to trade with an out of state dealer. But the target vehicle had been sold (even though it continues to be shown on the corporate and dealer websites). Another oddity was that the vehicle I bought/ordered (“should be here any day now”) from another dealer eventually turned out to be non-existent. The shipping code on the lower right of the window sticker was unusual. A glitch in Hyundai’s system? Flagged at the factory as a lemon? But the vehicle I actually received has more added equipment for the same price paid, so all is well. In fairness to the dealers, I realize they have very little visibility into the shipping/transport of individual vehicles.
I paid within $50 of sticker price at the OKC-area dealer. Given that it was a rare combination and was ordered, I am happy with that price.
Upgrading from a well-loved 2006 Toyota Highlander, which will be passed down to my daughter.
