So after months of debate and stalking this channel I pulled the trigger on a fully loaded SEL. Purchased it at Johnson Hyundai in Apex, NC via Costco.

I am trying to figure out how to get an extended bumper 2 bumper warranty. They offer an extended warranty through IAS for 2300ish and has a 50 dollar deductible. I asked what the price would be to get the warranty through hyundai and it was 3K.

I looked through the rest of the thread and noticed that some folks were paying closer to 2K for warranties through Hyundai but I was not sure on the deductible.

Anyone have any guidance here? Has anyone purchased a warranty backed by IAS?

Thanks for any help! Excited to be part of the palisade community.

Personally I don't see the value of purchasing an extended warranty on a new Hyundai vehicle because the car comes with just about the best warranty in the industry. I have owned a Sonata, an Elantra, a Santa Fe and now a Palisade. I never purchased an extended warranty on any of them nor ever wished I had. I was really pressured by the accounting manager to purchase the warranty on the Palisade but I shut him down with some mildly harsh words. I have saved nearly $9000 by not buying extended warranties which should cover any non-warranty issue in the future. This is just my personal feeling on the subject. I would never criticize anyone who feels the peace of mind is worth $2000 or more.

Take a look at this thread -- seems like Crystal at Burlington Hyundai is the person to contact for the best pricing I've seen so far. 10 yr/100K for $1398 and 10 yr/120K for $1598. Zero deductible and zero tax. And this is a Hyundai Warranty.

I purchased the extended bumper-to-bumper (10yr/120k). I chose not to go with a Hyundai policy because it requires you only use Hyundai dealers. My choice is always (for now) to use the dealership....but in a pinch, to have flexibility. The other allows the use of non-Hyundai dealers, which I found to be very useful living in Colorado, where dealerships can be far apart or not at all. In an emergency, i had to replace a water pump on my previous ride that broke down on a Sunday in a remote part of the state. A dealership was 2 hours away, and only open on the Monday. I chose for safety and practicality to use a guy local who was open. All turned out well for the truck, and I wrote the warranty folks, laying out my reasoning, and they accepted it, minus my deductible.
The extended warranty for my Palisade makes sense because everything - absolutely everything - is controlled in some way by the electronics, which are only covered by the basic 5yr/50k warranty (the 10/100 is the power train, etc, not bumper/bumper). The extended now guarantees I won't have any issues for a very long time.
I most certainly am not an extended warranty guy. I hate them on other things we buy. But for this kind of high-end car, with all the electronics integral to its operation, there's no way I won't have it in place. I plan to have this ride for as long as the one it replaced (which was a 2003 Durango that I sold with 226,000 original miles after 17 years!).

Usually I don't purchase extended warranties, but since the Palisade is a first-year model, plus with all the electronic systems that are only covered up to 60K miles (about 3 years for me) I purchased a 3rd party warranty (from CNA) when I picked up my limited (it was all the dealer offered). It was $1741 and was listed as a "lifetime" warranty - unlimited miles and unlimited time "per contract terms". After getting home and actually reading the contract it permits using using "new parts, remanufactured parts, non-original equipment, manufacturers parts or parts of like kind and quality". There are also some strange things listed in the "non-covered parts, services and conditions". Specifically "drivetrain assembly, engine, exhaust system and catalytic converter, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, transfer case/all wheel drive assembly and transmission" among other more standard exclusions. To be fair the dealer did provide a "lifetime powertrain warranty" at no cost which may cover some of those items and the Hyundai warranty should cover most of those parts up to 100K miles, but I really didn't like that the contract permitted them to use parts, that at their sole discretion, are like kind and quality which I interpreted to be used.. I ended up cancelling the CNA policy and purchased a 10 year, 120K Hyundai policy from Crystal at Burlington Hyundai/Subaru. As Dmigoya states you do have to use a Hyundai dealership, but you will get Hyundai parts and Hyundai-trained technicians. The contract also pays for towing to the nearest Hyundai dealership or approved repair facility and is not limited by mileage or cost. I bought the warranty for the assurance that I won't be hit with a big bill in the future for repairs, and the factory warranty gives me a greater peace of mind. Plus, at $1598 total cost it was less than $1872 I paid for the CNA warranty ($1741 plus tax). The transaction was quick and painless so I'm happy that I switched.

I also went with a 10/120k $0 deductible warranty for peace of mind with the electronics and various safety systems. I went with @Jason Fox at Gates, as they have been extremely good to work with and I wanted to reward their top notch customer service. I paid $1708 (tax included).

Has anyone that purchase the Hyundai platinum service contract for 10/120k confirm that it is indeed 120k with a service center? the reason I ask is the Hyundai financing conquest website only have the 10/100k advertised.

Gents i confirmed that the platinum warranty indeed shows up on at the service center computers.

here is the person that confirmed

working on getting it $1598 taxes included.
