We are looking at the new palisade to replace our 13 Pilot touring 4x4.
we are debating between a 20 Limited and the new 21 caligraphy. Just trying to figure out the differences in options.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! :)

There are no option packages on the 20 Limited or the 21 Calligraphy. They come fully loaded. Only accessories that can be added at any time (cargo net, mud flaps, all-weather mats, etc.) would be the differences.

The 20 Limited had a unique grille and unique wheels, as well as a bunch of unique interior items. The unique interior stuff is now on the Calligraphy for 2021, but no longer on the 2021 Limited. The 2020 Limited grille and wheels are no longer available. The 2021 Calligraphy comes with a new unique grille and new unique wheels that are polarizing (you either like them or you hate them). The Calligraphy can only be had with AWD. The 2020 Limited could be either AWD or FWD.

Basically the 2021 Calligraphy is the 2020 Limited. The 2021 Limited has lost pretty much all of its unique content. And if you want AWD, the price of a 2021 Limited is so close to a 2021 Calligraphy that it makes no sense to buy the Limited. For FWD, it’s a different conversation.

The only truly new things for 2021 on the Calligraphy (aside from the unique wheels and grille) are a wider LED center high-mounted stop light (your 3rd stop light basically) and different color combos on the inside, which you should probably check on Hyundai’s website now that the 2021 can be configured. They’re hard to describe and have caused some confusion, so better to go check them out yourself.

That’s what we were finding so far. So it might be better just to get a 20 limited. I like those rims better anyway. Don’t care much for the new grill or rims

The calligraphy grill is kind of meh to me, but I really dislike the wheels on it. I’m just annoyed that the packages I have in my 2020 SEL now get the bigger lcd displays and nav in 2021. Pretty aggravating right there.
