How does the smart cruise control work in traffic jambs.

I commute 66 miles each way to the office.....
I usually hit 3 jamb ups on the way home.

Can I just hit a button...cruise at 70...and have it slow me down to a stop.....then on it's own move along with the stop and go crawl?

Or can I drive as normal then in the jamb...hit a button when at a stop or less than 10mph...and have the cruise function do the needful?

I haven't tried the ACC on the Pali yet, but on other cars, you can activate it even when stopped. The only bummer is it doesn't take off by itself; you need to either prod the gas pedal a little, or hit one of the CC buttons. Supposedly a 'safety' feature mandated by the US government. On many cars, probably due to that reason, it just disconnects below 10 mph or so. I'll be interesting to read what the Pali system does, and what you need to do to get it going again.

I use it most of the time.. Your first option is correct... Start with cruise at whatever speed you need and it will slow you down, keep you a certain distance from the vehicle ahead of you and stop and go with traffic...

It will also bring the car to a complete stop and resume driving by itself if the stop takes less than 3 seconds (30 seconds on HDA roads). Longer than that and you’ll get a warning when the car in front departs and you have to press the cruise control’s resume button or press the gas pedal to get going again.
