After returning from a lengthy drive last night I noticed a light band across the top inch or so of the instrument panel that I hadn't seen before. I thought it was strange and possibly a malfunction as I assumed it really served no purpose. I was too tired and hungry to investigate it further so I left it alone for the time being. This morning I found that it only appeared in the mode that showed the car with the 3D view. It made me think that the light band was supposed to simulate the horizon and the sky. The attached photos show the instrument panel with and without the light band. I could find no mention in the manual about this. On page 3-117 one of the illustrations suggests the light band but not for the conditions I have stated here. My Palisade is a Limited AWD one month old. Any comments or explanation would be most welcome. Happy New Year to all.
