When using navigation from Apple 11 pro max, the sound is very low if connected via USB. Plays normal if standalone but then map/turns doesn’t show on screen. My Tech Savy son played with it and couldn’t figure it out.

Any ideas? Have a service appointment in 2 weeks for the ‘Radar Blocked‘ messages I posted before so could add it to the list.

Thanks, Art

change the volume output on the phone not the vehicle.

open the apple maps on your phone when NOT connected to the vehicle.

set a destination, and press go to route.

then swipe up from the bottom option where the END button is located

Click on AUDIO

set the navigation volume

the choices are

no voice
low
normal
high

I used a slightly workflow (might work for you).
I found the media and navigation volumes drastically different as well and it was driving me nuts. Then on a long drive I was able to try a few different things.
I'll use radio as the media and waze as the navigation as the example.
When waze is not communicating anything to you, the volume controls the radio. When you start getting an update from waze (turn left, blah blah blah) turn the volume up. I found that during that time the volume knob controls the volume of the nav.

Hope that helps-

On my Pali, surprisingly, it doesn't work that way. You have to click the speaker icon on the nav to increase or decrease the volume. That's the first car you cannot control it with the volume while instructions are heard. I have the Calligraphy, so maybe it's different in lower trims. But for BT phone volume, it still works.

If true, that would drive me bonkers. Seems like way too much effort to adjust one or the other on the fly.
