I can’t really explain this but I thought I would ask. When I’m using navigation in my car, I always use Apple CarPlay. Every once in a while, the navigation will show that I’m not on the road but about 100 feet to the right. The thing that’s odd is if I disconnect my phone and I go to my palisade navigation it shows the same thing. I cannot imagine how they are connected Given it happens even if it the phone is not plugged. I’m wonderingIf anyone has experiences or anyone could possibly explain this. It’s weird.

I believe that the car shares its GPS data with the phone when it is connected. So it would make sense that both are wrong the same way.

I don't think that is a correct assumption. As far as I know there is no mechanism that allows for either device to share their individual GPS receivers with other devices. Since this anomaly occurred on two different devices it could be simply that the receivers were not getting a decent reception from enough of the satellites (min of 3) to properly triangulate your position within the desired accuracy of around 3 feet.

That is possible it’s just odd because they are not in remote locations. One is in a major highway leading to philly. Not sure if there is any answer just thought I would ask.

I'm not making any assumption. I know for a fact that the car shares its GPS data with the phone. See here for one article where it is mentioned: https://www.extremetech.com/extreme...ay-and-wont-love-it-and-likewise-android-auto

Here's an Apple developer slide deck that mentions it as well (slide 93): https://devstreaming-cdn.apple.com/...22_developing_carplay_systems_part_1.pdf?dl=1

You'll note that it states that a GPS-equipped car is recommended for wired CarPlay and required for wireless CarPlay (car manufacturers aren't following those recommendations).
