I found this site researching my question: "how can the SEL with multiple packages this nice not have Bluelink?" and finally found some info. I'm not a car guy, not a techie, don't have lots of time on my hands, etc. but I thought this is a good place to get solid information and more than just TSBs on the Palisade so thought I'd go ahead a register.

On the 2021 the premium package includes Blue Link, doesn't it? And I think the 2020 had it with the Driver's Guidance package.

Welcome to the forum. I've found a ton of great info here myself.

The 2021 premium package bundles in what used to be the drive guidance package, which means it has Bluelink.

As you said, a 2020 with premium only would not have Bluelink... you would have to add the drive guidance package to get it.

Trying to find an SEL that had the guidance package in a 2020 was like trying to find a unicorn for me. When I was purchasing mine I checked no fewer than 8 Hyundai dealerships in my general area and no one had one on the lot with it. When I looked far beyond that area if I did find one it seemed like it was only on SEL’s with all the other packages (convenience, premium, sunroof which is what I got with mine) so at that point you’re basically buying a limited from a content and price point so I don’t know why anyone would bother. If there’s anyone on here that has an SEL with it I’ve not heard them mention it.

Well, a 2021 Limited with AWD is $4450 more than a loaded 2021 SEL with AWD. For us, personally, the items on the Limited that I do want (HUD and the turn signal picture) aren't worth the added $4450. Add to that that we'd really prefer a bench seat (unavailable on the Limited), and for us, it makes no sense.

Our biggest issue is that the loaded SELs are hard to come by with bench seats. We just test drove one with bucket seats yesterday and liked it, but honestly, we know the bench is what will work best for us, the kids, and the dog. I think it's weird that the bench is so difficult to find. So many car companies seem to think that their top trims don't need extra seating. They must have done plenty of research to have all come to that conclusion, but it's still surprising to me.

I’ve seen plenty with bench seats with premium, convenience and sunroof, but you’re gonna have trouble locating one with the guidance package as well. I couldn’t find one at all regardless of rear seating option that had all the packages when I was looking for mine. There wasn’t a single dealership within 100 miles of me that had one and I’m in an urban area with lots of Hyundai dealerships around. I don’t know if they figured most people weren’t going to spend the money on a FULLY loaded SEL, or if they just wanted to steer folks who did want all that into a limited.

To anyone looking at a 2021, there is no more drive guidance package. It’s a part of the premium package now. Hyundai simplified the package situation for the new model year.

In a 250 mile radius of us, there are two SEL with bench and one of them isn't actually on the lot but is due at the end of the month or beginning of Oct. The other one is the one color I won't get (white with beige interior) so I haven't even called to see if it's on the lot.

For the 2021s, the Driver's Guidance package is built in with the other packages. And if you want a bench, you have to take both the convenience and premium packages (which we want anyway.)

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! :)

Glad to see Hyundai simplified things and includes Bluelink in the premium package for 2021. That makes more sense, at least for dummies like me. Now I have an excuse to get a 2021 and just trade with my wife! As for bench v. Captain's chairs in the 2nd row, it depends on the size of your family of course (we are a family of 5) but we wanted the Captain's chairs. We liked the idea of an aisle for (the smaller kids) to get to the 3rd row. Seems easier than the bench seat. Plus we came from a Sienna minivan with a similar configuration so the aisle in the middle was a natural for us.

I have a 2020 palisade SEL AWD with convenience package, premium package and drive guidance package. Those were must haves for me, fully loaded as an SEL can get before going Limited and about $5,000 less in price. I didn't go limited because I hated the quilted seats looks

Drive guidance on my 2020 sel was non negotiable, I wouldn't have bought a palisade without it. little infotainment screen and no HDA, well worth the extra cost
