If you were on the fence over Palisade versus the Santa Fe, what pulled you one direction over the other? Focused mostly on limited variances.

I currently have a Tucson and am looking at trading in due to the dct settlement. Mostly focused on the Santa Fe due to increased towing and space in back. My wife prefers the Santa Fe. Towing, not doing anything heavy but would like more than 1000 lbs.

Since so many have looked at the Palisade, I didn’t want to take it off the table. To me is just seems so much bigger/bulkier. I only drive 6-7k a year and just my wife, medium dog and I...for now. We are not fond of captain seats as we have a hammock cover across back seat (Tucson) for the spoiled dog. But is there something else we should consider in P that is better than SF?

Besides the room, the palisade is just a much more luxurious vehicle. The sante Fe feels cheap in comparison. If you don't want Captain's chairs, just get an SEL instead of a limited

The most important variable is size are you looking for 7-8 Seater or 5 Seater. The SantaFe used to come in a very cramped 7-8 seater variant. The Palisade is its proper larger replacement. The Santa Fe is a larger roomy 5 seater. If your looking for 7-8 you want a Palisade, Telluride, Ascent, etc.
All 5 and 7-8 seaters come in differing Trim levels. Naturally as well as each model is redesigned around twice a decade with minor improvements in between. The Palisade being a new model released around 5 months ago its got the best Hyundai and Kia could design at the time.

Next year you will see in all probability very minor tweaks and naturally over the months since introduction kinks have been ironed out in production so that models being delivered to dealers since September - October are less likely need any remedial attention from the manufacturer.
