I am thinking of wrapping my whole Palisade, has anyone wrapped their whole SUV? Thoughts and suggestions?

What are you going to wrap it with? I think the roof would look great wrapped, but not sure I would do it.

I have a black Paliased purchased in August only hand washed and waxed with extreme care with high quality products (I live in Las Vegas, NV and have washed and waxed it 3X). The clear coat and paint seem to be of poor quality and I want to protect my investment, I really Love this SUV and want to keep its appearance. I was quoted 4K for a full body black metallic wrap ( problem is they want to keep my SUV for at least a week) Any help in maintaining and preserving will greatly appreciate. Thank all of you who have responded. I really appreciate your time and response.

What products specifically do you use, and can you describe your routine for washing/waxing in a little more detail?

The clear coat is very thin on our Palisade so be careful. We measured under 1 mil in several areas on ours. I wouldn’t use anything too abrasive if you’re attempting to color correct or you can burn through the clear pretty easily. I think the wrap, especially for a black vehicle and especially in NV - makes a ton of sense. You’d probably pay over $2K for a quality ceramic coat. For those not wrapping, I’d at least clear wrap the front 3/4. Rock chips will most certainly compromise the clear and a clear bra will help.

I think between 3M, Suntek and Xpel, they are all top quality films. I'm going to go with Suntek Ultra just because the shop I am going to use uses Suntek films.

Just so our OP isn’t confused. Raggedy is using Suntek clear film to wrap the front of his car only. Great for keeping down road chips and a strong #3 player in film but wouldn’t be my choice for wrapping a whole car. Using Suntek will keep the cost down though so good choice for the Palisade and will cost you around $700 to get it done as the materials are about $200.

Quality wraps to do the whole car are quite a bit more so expect around $5K to do it right and nearly 1/2 of that could be in materials. Let me know if you need any advice, my neighbor does clear and vinyl wraps as part of his ad company. We talked about wrapping my Z06 so I got quite an education. He wrapped all the city buses here and the airport shuttles. Infinitely tougher with custom graphics that have to be cut and aligned.

I only use Chemical Guys products and use all the correct material (micr fiber sponge, all micro fiber towels and never in the sun).

CVP33,
I am interested if your friend is in the Las Vegas, Henderson NV area on wrap costs.

No sorry, NC. And what a coincidence. I’m a dual buck, chemical guys fan. I’ve used their foam cannon for 3 years and love it.
