I have 2 phones paired. The phones won't play audio is the car is running. They do work if wired in, but I will have one phone running android auto and my grandchild wants to play a game on the other phone and the sound is cut off. The sound returns to the phone when the engine is turned off.

I have 2 paired also - if you want to play music from one phone and maybe take calls on the other - you have to go into the MEDIA settings and switch the audio bluetooth connection to the phone you want to hear. Not sure if that what you are trying to do...seemed similar to me.

You can only use one phone at a time, and that goes for all other vehicles, as far as I know. Just connect the one you want to use with the vehicle.

This is incorrect information, yet again. On the infotainment system with navigation, you can have 2 phones active at the same time: both can stream audio over Bluetooth, but only one can handle phone calls over Bluetooth. There is a priority screen to select which of the 2 phones can do phone functions.

You might pair 10 phones to the car... BUT you can only use ONE at a time, because the car only has ONE Bluetooth channel. You have to switch users to use a different phone for either music or phone calls. Read the manual, and post the page where it says you can USE (not pair) 2 phones actively at the same time. You won't find that :).

This isn't true. You can REGISTER up to 6 phones and you can USE 2 phones at the same time with the infotainment system w/ nav. I do it all the time. It is clearly documented here, and shows you how to switch the priority between the 2 connected devices: User's Manual

On my driver profile, my phone is first so it can do audio and phone calls. My wife's is second so she can only do audio. On her profile, the priorities are reversed.

It most certainly is possible to USE 2 phones at the same time and it does work.

The registration of up to 6 phones is documented here: User's Manual

How exactly do you listen to 2 music sources at the same time? The priority only means which phone the system is going to use. If I forget to switch BT on my phone, it picks up my wife's. But it's not both, since there's only ONE BT channel. I'm leaving this useless conversation.

It doesn’t mean you’d try listening to 2 music sources at the same time, that’s just dumb. It means one phone can stream music over Bluetooth while the other can get calls also over Bluetooth. This infotainment system has 2 BT channels, which is how it’s possible.

The priority screen is because they allow only one phone to get phone calls over Bluetooth, but they allow both phones to stream music. It lets you pick which one will be allowed to do phone calls.

You can absolutely have 2 phones connected at the same time with your infotainment system. Go try it instead of telling me it’s not possible. You are 100% wrong.

But don’t take my word for it. Watch this video from Hyundai showing you exactly that. Watch the whole thing, particularly at the 2 minute mark where it tells you both phones can be connected simultaneously, both can control music (and they show you how), but only one can do phone calls.

This is on a sonata with the same infotainment system as the Palisade and the old UI. It’s available in the new UI too.
