Tiger Woods should NOT be driving at all. This is like the third vehicle he has crashed, I think he just likes the attention..........
Tiger gets plenty of attention without crashing his vehicles. The first one was not really a crash, it was "staged" to hide the fact that his ex-wife smashed in the windows and other parts of his car with a golf club when Tiger was in the car (when she found out how many women he was banging).

Just who the hell cares what he did .

You will have to ask Aussiekeeper why he claimed that Tiger crashed three times just to get attention.
I also don't care what he does, not a fan of his.
Not a fan of Hollywood, news media or any so called "high profile" individuals....they are merely distractions to me.

No one needs a 3.5 Turbo engine on a vehicle that size. It is ridiculously overpowered.
No, it's not. It does 0-60 in about 6 sec, and the Pali in about 7, so basically 1 sec quicker... which is significant, but not outrageously so. Remember it's 500 lbs heavier than the Pali, so you cannot just compare power figures. At any rate, that last statement would be true with a V8TT, like an BMW X7.

My mistake. I used the wrong word. I should have NOT have said "ridiculously" overpowered (3.5T on the Genesis GV80), I should have said "dangerously" overpowered. An SUV is not a sports sedan, and cannot handle like one, and when someone tries to take a corner at a high speed in an SUV (like Tiger Woods did), then it is not surprising that the SUV loses control due to its higher center of gravity. The 3.5T is optional on the GV80 while a 2.5T is standard).

But yes, all of this is my own opinion, and others are free to disagree.

I am through buying American cars.
Please try to define "American car".

Plenty of Fords, Chevys, and Dodges are imports, or made from imported parts, or assembled somewhere else. And plenty of "foreign" cars are built on US soil with lots of US-sourced parts. My '09 Santa Fe was assembled in Alabama by non-union labor from >50% US-sourced parts. Not sure how much more "American" you can get.

What does that have to do with horsepower? Are you claiming that with a smaller motor it wouldn't flip?

If you don't want a 3.5, don't buy one. But don't start with "Nobody needs..." You don't know what I or anyone else "needs", nor do you get to decide for us.

First, we are talking about a 3.5 Turbo on the Genesis GV80, not the Hyundai Palisade 3.5 GDI. A 2.5 Turbo is standard on the GV80.

On a motor with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, some people are more likely to drive too fast, especially around curves, and a SUV is much more likely to loose control than a sedan, due to the higher center of gravity of the SUV. Tiger Woods is a case in point when he crashed his GV80 3.5T supposedly going 87 MPH around a curve in LA (I don't think he actually owned the car, but was given to him to drive during a golf tournament sponsored by Genesis that benefits his foundation).

I am not telling anyone what they can and can't do, and especially not telling people what they can and cannot post on this forum (like you are doing to me). I am just expressing my opinion about what they should do for their own safety and the safety of others, not what they can legally do. If you don't like my opinion, that is fine. Lot's of times, people get things they don't need, and aren't good for them, but they do have a right to buy them and I am not denying them that right (despite your claims).

Why don't you trade in your Palisade for Genesis GV80 with the 3.5 T engine?

Ya,ya,blah,blah.....I know the car business, in it for 32 years. No more American names or union built crap. I think you got my drift......

I got lucky; mine has a 3.8L GDI ;).

And would I buy a Palisade again? At MSRP, yes. Above? Nope... but there's nothing better. But the new Pathfinder is pretty close, especially now that Nissan ditched the awful CVT, for a proper auto (9-sp). At any rate, ADMs on Palis are probably going to get worse, with the new computer chip shortage. Plus Hyundai could raise prices as well, to get a piece of that ADM pie. So those in the market, I'd try to get a 2021 now, before they get even more expensive.

I was thinking the same thing today... I'll bet prices are going to be going up!
