Anyone having a message show up on right cluster screen stating "check rear seat" or "rear seat alert" when you press button to turn car off? I thought maybe the rear seats were halfway folded or something but that's not the case. BTW, I have a 2020 limited. Any input much appreciated!

Thanks!

That is a safety feature so a child does not get forgotten if they’re in the back.

ok, so that's a standard message that cannot be turned off? Just kinda annoying to see that pop up every time I turn car off.

I would seriously doubt it could be disabled. Perhaps with a computer and coding, but you are seeing that in almost all SUV’s nowadays. I don’t have any small children or babies but it doesn’t bother me.

If you have the rear occupant alert enabled, this is the first warning you will get. It will typically trigger if you opened your rear doors before starting your car. If you don’t acknowledge it, you will probably have it start sounding the horn at you if it detects any minuscule movements after you leave.

If you have no use for it, best to disable it in your gauge cluster settings. It is the #1 reason for people’s random annoying alarms with these vehicles.

I’ve never looked to see if you can physically disable it. I see it in the cluster as a reminder but I’ve never had any audible alerts.

Ya know what! Considering it’s intended use I’d leave it on...you just never know when it might be needed.its meant to save a child’s life.
