Rough ride

I JUST bought my new Palisade SEL today (4/5/21) but the dealer had to get the one I wanted from another location so it won’t be here until tomorrow. In the meantime, they gave me another SEL to drive (I traded in my 2013 Mercedes ML350). It’s been several weeks since I test drove the car, and I knew it wouldn’t be as smooth a ride as my Mercedes, but I don’t remember it being this rough! On the way home with the loaner I felt EVERY BUMP! It was so rough! By the time I got home I was crying my eyes out and having terrible buyers remorse. Could it be this loaner is one of those ill-fated rough Palisades and mine will be fine or are they all like this???

how many miles on it. Mine has gotten rougher in the 1 year of ownership. Complained about it at my last service at 11K miles, wound up paying $120 buck for an alighment which only slightly improved the roughness. Its like the shocks needed oil or something, the smooth quite ride was gone.

OEM tires are usually to blame. The manufacturer doesn't care about the tire handling and smoothness once the test drive is over, so they get cheaper tires that don't ride well or handle well once the tire tread is past 1/3 used.

I Bought a Limited 3/10/21 and I have buyers remorse as well because of my rough ride. You can complain within 3 days of purchase I believe and switch your vehicle. I passed that mark when I really noticed it! I am still going back and forth to the dealer about this truck

Did you check tire pressures??? When I test-drove a Calligraphy, I immediately knew the tires were hyper-inflated. Checked TPMS, and yup: 45 to 46 psi. Drove back to the dealer, made them lower it to the correct 35, and what a difference; MUCH smoother. I almost always carry a tire pressure gauge then test-driving cars, but forgot it that day. Hope that was the cause of your bad experience. Good luck.

Very true. Always a good idea to check tire pressure. Also, the smaller the wheels, the softer the ride will be...
