So, I'm still relatively new to the Palisade club. I have disabled all the steering nannies, but started noticing an issue when driving on the highway. It seems the steering wheel will NOT stay in the exact center. It almost feels like a magnet is pushing it off center and it makes it difficult to stay centered in my lane. The wheel pushes itself to either side of center. I only notice this at highway speeds.

Secondly, I've read all about the grinding noises in the wheel. I definitely get a rubbing noise at low speeds. I'm not entirely sure if these are related.

Thanks in advance.

Lane Keeping Assist / Lane Following Assist. Start about page 5-100 of the manual.

I’ve already disabled all those. That’s the first thing I did. This isn’t the system pushing back. It feels like there’s a magnet keeping the wheel from top dead center.

Make sure your lane departure option is turn off

I've turned off everything but collision warning. The issue is still there.

How about the rubbing sound when turning the wheel at low speed? It's not grinding, but a noticeable rub. Is that similar to the worm gear folks are complaining about?

The grinding in the steering wherl is the worm drive gear which is on the recall list. Took about a month to get the part

My Pali doesn't track dead-straight on the highway either. I have to constantly make minute steering corrections, but I attribute that to the constantly windy conditions where I live. The Tesla doesn't move, but the Pali being a higher profile vehicle, does. And the less firm suspension adds to that. The other 'issue' with that is the steering is quite long, at 1.5+ turns (or 3+ total) lock to lock, so that requires more corrections. The Tesla has less than 1 turn, so it tracks dead straight... but some people doesn't like it that quick, since it requires more concentration when driving, as even a sneeze can jerk the car to one side or the other. I personally like it, but in the middle mode, so steering effort has some heft to it, while still provides lots of feedback. I'd say it's the nature of the beast, but you should drive another Pali to see if it's your unit, or normal. Good luck.

Did you use the physical button around the e-parking brake to turn off LKAS?

Mine does the same thing, plus a ton of other issues. Long story short, Hyundai told me I am screwed with a piece of crap. I will never buy this brand again.

Finally got it to the dealer. They replaced the worm gear per a TSB and that seems to have resolved my issues.
