Looking for a needle in a haystack. I'm in Canada and my palisade has been in the shop for 2 weeks due to a back ordered trailing arm part that has no future release date. Are there anyone here who works with Hyundai who may know of where to get one. Every place I've found on google doesn't have stock. Someone give me a Christmas miracle
🙂

on a side note If the Palisade and Telluride share the same platform, you would think the suspension parts would be the same. part # is 55271-S8000 The part number for the same part on the telluride isn't the same as the palisade, it actually matches the 2020 santa fe. (55271-s1000) They look identical from the research i can find, and the latter part number is available through hyundai/kia.

Any help would be great!hyundai.webp

Although at one time, Hyundai Motors owned a majority interest in Kia, Hyundai now only owns about 33% of Kia, and Kia owns some small part of Hyundai, so Hyundai does not technically own Kia outright (nor do they own 50%+), although the circular ownerships between the two are complicated. Hyundai Automotive Group was was previously part of the giant conglomerate Hyundai, but the government forced them to breakup into multiple companies, some of which that still use the Hyundai name (in part), even though they are no longer associated with Hyundai Motor Group. Other companies that were part of the original giant Hyundai conglomerate make all kinds things like ships, construction equipment, robots, semi-conductors, etc., and also owned Hyundai Department Stores.

Both Kia and Hyundai Motors jointly have an ownership interest in a parts company called Mobis, and there are extensive technology sharing agreements between Hyundai Motors and Kia. But since Hyundai and Kia are technically separate companies, they can independently choose which parts and which technologies to use in their autos. So I would go by the part numbers, and it is possible that Telluride uses different suspension parts than Palisade.

But if you can find the correct part number at a Kia site (or dealer) then I suspect it would work fine. Keep in mind that Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Canada, independently decide which (and how many) spare parts to stock in the USA or Canada, and therefore for some parts they may have to get them shipped from Korea to North America, which means they may be affected by the supply chain and shipping delay issues. But the Telluride is assembled in the USA (Palisade is assembled in Korea), so Kia Telluride parts may be easier to find in North America.
