USB Data Port Not Fast Charging?

Just got a brand new Palisade Limited. Was surprised that my Note 8 charges as a regular/slow rate connected to the data port or wireless charger, but fast charging in the other USB ports.

I used to have problems with 1A chargers keeping up with the usage. Not sure why Hyundai wouldn't just make that port 2.1A. Anyone else have same problem with a Note 8 (on the of chance I just have a problem with mine?

Now I feel like using Android Auto may drain my phone. No other way to use it and charge my phone at the same time. $50k for a vehicle and only one data port? That port goes and no redundancy have to fix it.
 
Running Android Auto on mine daily since December (Galaxy Note 9). Couple three/four hour trips included.
It's always been fully charged by the end. You will be fine.

But yes... I wish the auto industry as a whole would implement fast charging on all ports.
 
My iphone charges real slow in both locations as well. Pretty disappointing but not the end of the world - I really wish car manufacturers would catch up with this and provide usb-c with fast charging but that's just not going to happen.
 
Yeah. Some are coming out with wireless Android Auto/CarPlay. That actually makes the wireless charging pad useful.

I'm still personally bummed about lack of Android Auto full screen but I know that is a topic of other chats. May get an iPhone just to get full screen waze. Wish Hyundai would come out with a commitment for software update for wide screen.

I also have note 8 and never have issues. It will charge even when using android auto.
