Is that really what the 3rd light is? A fog light? I thought it was for the dynamic bending light (meaning the headlight turns when you turn the steering wheel) that is available on some Hyundai models.

In addition to Snow, both Mud and Sand made it to the Canadian models in the terrain mode, at least in the Ultimate trim. Maybe for US too.

No, those modes are not available in the USA. Hyundai US stated that the snow mode would be enough for any situation. This comes from a motortrend article.

I have yet to take delivery of my Ultimate (which is what they call the Limited up here) but look forward to seeing if there’s much of a difference between the 3 terrain types. I’m thinking maybe not so much.

On the plus side, we do have a locking rear differential button in the center of the mode dial. 👍👍

I will never understand why they leave additional features out of the US market, of ALL markets. Consumers in the US generally are well receptive to having "all the options" available to them. Even in a brand such as Hyundai (often times ESPECIALLY in a brand such as Hyundai where you get bang for the buck). I have a new Mercedes E Class that I limited myself to the "Mid-tier" trim due to the incredible jump in cost from trim level to trim level. However, with our Palisade, we maxed it out with the Limited AWD and would have welcomed the option of red leather, power folding mirrors and fog lights.

I think you may see it on the 2021 model. It may be a way for Hyundai to raise the price.

Good possibility. It may have been a way to keep costs down for the introduction of the Palisade in the USA. I imagine both the Palisade and the Telluride will be seeing price increases in the not too distant future - and adding options may be a good way of that making sense to buyers...
