Are you happy with your Palisade and given the choice, would you buy it again? I posted a poll and wanted to ask other questions, but the poll didn't have space for more questions and I had to group SE's & SEL's together, as I ran out of space. If you do the poll and want to comment, please comment here!

Interesting poll. The Palisade wasn’t a dream vehicle for me, but I liked it well enough. I would have rather had the Telluride, but pretty much every dealership around was lucky to have even a couple on their lots so finding one equipped the way I wanted and getting at least some kind of deal on it was impossible. As I’ve posted before I recently traded my Pali for a new Santa Fe limited and we love that. Since I purchased my Pali in May of 2020 before all this COVID stuff was into super high gear I was able to buy it like I did with all my previous vehicles. To that I mean that I actually negotiated and got a great deal as it stickered for $41K and I did zero down, got the at the time 0.9% financing and got it out the door at $38K. Had I been unable to lower that price, or even had them try to inflate it I most likely would’ve passed on it. At the end of the day it turned out to be a decent investment due to new vehicle shortages across the board and it’s trade in value helped me get a better equipped vehicle at a much lower price.

My Palisade is 2020 Limited ( in 2020 that was top of the line like the Calligraphy is today )
AWD white with Beige interior ( no bad smell ) ( no vibration ) ( only slight wind noise at high speed in cross wind )
For the price at that time it couldn't be beat.
I researched the vehicle before I leased it, There are a few things I wish it had, but knew what it had and didn't
have so no complaints.
We made a list of what was a must have, what we would like to have, how much we would spend after discounts
and incentives. Palisade had every one of our must haves and the most of the would like to haves of every brand
we tried. Several others had more of the like to have but the price was oh no.
Looked at Telluride first, missing a couple of our really want to haves. Missed on the color options we wanted.
To long a wait to get one, And way over msrp that was a no no

I wanted a vehicle that could I could use to tow my boat (3500'ish pounds) and be a comfortable Illinois to Texas and back vehicle to 2 to 4 people. I am a GM guy and wanted the Traverse. I Googled "Traverse vs", and The Telluride and Palisade comparisons popped up. But to get more than 1500lb towing capacity I needed to get the Traverse Premier package. The Palisade SEL was a lot cheaper. My friend is an independent 3rd party warranty inspector (inspects cars to see if they are covered by 3rd party warranties), and he said the Traverses have Transmission issues a lot. He said he hasn't encountered many issues with 6 cylinder Hyundai vehicles. So I bought the Palisade SEL with just the convenience package and sunroof. It's a car and so far, with just under 9,000 miles on it in 13 months, hasn't had any mechanical issues. Paint issues? Yeah, a few - one required repainting the entire lift gate. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but it's not a car that I have developed a great bond with.

I love the Traverse, but don't understand why they only have dark interiors. I have yellow Labradors and every hair stands out in a black interior. I wish they made a beige interior. Didn't know about the transmission problems, so that's good to know!

I am through buying American cars. Too much money for what you get and a so,so warranty, that if it isn't denied for repair. The unions have ruined the value of American cars. And European cars are maintenance nightmares. The Asians get it and for the time being, they will get my business.

I would definitely buy a Calligraphy again.I enjoy driving it and constantly get compliments from people who ride in it and when I get out of it. I only have 3500 miles on it,but as of now I’m impressed.

So do you own a Palisade and if so, would you buy it again?

If the GV80 was available at the time we purchased I would have bought that instead....
But it has significantly less cargo space (34.9 vs 45.8 cu ft behind rear seats). I was looking at the 3.5T Prestige, but wife said we wouldn't fit, so had to 'settle' for the Pali... which I'm glad we did, since I didn't really want to spend almost 20 grand more for it anyway. And it's just not worth that much extra, while losing interior space IMO. I also don't think it's any quieter than the Pali, at least on the crappy streets where I live.

This is the biggest issue with the GV80 for me. I would have gotten one b/c of the 3.5T engine, but the cargo space loss is substantial and even when using the third row seats, they are only big enough for kids.

It's a shame they didn't make the Genesis larger. I drive a 2013 Hyundai Genesis now and would have loved a Genesis SUV. Hoping they make it larger in the future.

No one needs a 3.5 Turbo engine on a vehicle that size. It is ridiculously overpowered. Look what happened to Tiger Woods when he drove it.

Tiger Woods should NOT be driving at all. This is like the third vehicle he has crashed, I think he just likes the attention..........
