Is it possible to post another pic a little further out to better see the location? Thanks very much
Sorry I didn't get to this earlier. Hope this helps you out.

This is what I installed in the window channels of my AWD Limited back in February. It's black, so you don't even notice it. It's also a rubber seal – EPDM Closed Cell Solid Foam Tubing, so it doesn't stay compressed. The Frost King gray foam and the foam backer rod fillers stay compressed, so they don't work as well.

The Palisade is my wife's daily, and I don't always get to drive it. She told me today, that she felt like the wind noise was getting worse, but was not real sure, since she also hasn't been driving much lately either. It could be that the foam/sponge has started to shift or wear over time. I might be ordering that foam rope also.

I'd originally installed the gray foam backer rod, but noticed that it had compressed and it didn't "bounce back". I figured there was no way it would seal anything for any length of time, especially with the window being operated to open and close it.

When I removed the gray foam, it was compressed to about 1/4 the size it was when I installed it. The EPDM Closed Cell Solid Foam Tubing I installed afterwards was so much better, and it has retained its original size and shape providing a good seal for the windows.

I only hear very slight wind noise (if at all) when I drive over 60 mph now. I have to be really listening for it and even then, I sometimes can't hear it.

Unfortunately I don’t think this will work for our problem. Ours is a howling/droning and a resonance. I don’t believe it’s related to wind leaking in to the cabin. Of course I could be wrong. Also drove one of my coworkers Palisades, unfortunately I talked her into getting one days after we had ours. Her wind noise is minimal compared to ours, but she stated hers is getting louder with time. That’s how ours went. Started as tolerable, moved to “hey that’s getting kinda loud” to where we are now with the droning. Hope for all your sake it gets fixed.

If the foam came with the car..why not have the dealer replace it under warranty?

The EPDM Closed Cell Solid Foam Tubing I installed would probably work. It sure couldn't hurt, for only $12 or so. If the noise has gotten worse for some people, it's probably because the original seals have loosened/flattened with time. Adding the new tubing would press those seals tight.

I learned early on that the gray rope was compressing in a troublesome way so I'd like to thank whoever originally discovered the closed foam product to use in place of it. The rope is a great product for our purposes. I've applied it to every place I could find, both front and rear, and am pretty confident I've got it all treated as well as possible. I even had a smaller tubing applied behind the door seals but it made it harder to close the doors on the first gentle attempt so I removed it.
FWIW, my doors sound better when closing than any other car I've ever had. I've taken this project as far as I can and I'm pretty happy.

Can you and others show pictures of where and how you are installing these foam pieces?

Here are the directions on install from the other forum. I agree the EPDM closed cell foam should be preferable to the Frost King version. FYI I haven't tried it yet. My insulation is on order from Amazon.

"From the inside of the driver's door window there is a Black rubber seal/gasket that runs the entire length of the window from the A pillar, near the mirror to the B pillar near the door frame next to the drivers seat. With the window closed, and from inside the vehicle, if you lightly pull the rubber gasket towards you away from window you can create a small area of separation to insert the foam. There is a channel that runs inside gasket around the entire length of the window that is hollow .The 3/8 foam fits PERFECTLY within that gap. Insert the foam into the channel and push the gasket back into place. The foam will not be visible and the gasket will be deformed in any way. Open the window and go to the outside of the vehicle. Just on the OUTSIDE of the window channel/felt lining there is another hollow channel in the door frame surrounding the window from the A pillar to the B pillar. Push the foam caulk saver firmly into the channel from one end to the other. In this step you can apply more pressure because your pushing directly into the metal frame. If done correctly the foam isn't noticeable on the outside of the window. On the inside of the window it is hidden under the rubber gasket. I applied the foam in this manner to BOTH driver and PASSENGER front windows. Not only did this COMPLETELY stop the whistling noise it reduced the outside road noise considerably. The cabin is NOTICEABLY more quiet, and you can hear the difference in the air pressure when closing the doors. Sorry that pictures came out too dark for me to post but hopefully this description is detailed enough to follow. Trust me, you will notice the difference!"

Here are the photos. Not perfect but they help.

Hyundai should include this in their owners manual...how embarrassing, owners of new vehicles scrambling to find a way to enjoy their ride..
Thank you for taking the time and effort to post..

Hello,

Neil P, thanks for the heads up! Just ordered the EPDM Foam Seal from Amazon and patiently await its' arrival. Sometimes, you have to fix issues yourself and not wait on Hyundai. My Palisade has been perfect except for the wind noise. The wind noise ruins serenity while driving. If this foam fix works for me, I will be eternally grateful.

I know that someone previously posted a couple of videos on how to install the foam but I can't locate them. Not sure if it was on this forum or another palisade forum ending in .org Maybe someone can find and re-post of provide a link to them.

I found them. He had first used gray colored foam but eventually replaced it with the black foam because the material retains its shape better.

I understand the cross posting.

Last time I posted about my wind issues was back in February. Just today I got my repurchase email. Since social distancing is in place, I'll have to wait until the earliest May 1st for that department to be back open. It sucks that it took this long...but for the dealership to have my vehicle for not ONE, but THREE 1/2 months longer than I've owned the vehicle is unacceptable. What makes it worse is how after it was "fixed" I had to take it back multiple times. One thing I will say is I'm impressed with Hyundai's customer service. They responded in a timely manner being that I was working with corporate and even at the end when the original agent I was working with quit/fired, within two emails/one week I received the repurchase paperwork.

It's not Hyundai that's the issue...it's new product not being up to standard upon release. I'm the type of consumer who waits for newly released products to figure out problems before purchase, but I figured, reputable company, best warranty, 2020 model, over 45k purchase...I should be good. This situation is just a reminder to me of why I shop the way I do. It's nice to have something BRAND NEW, but sit and say to yourself, "What's so different between this item and something 1 to 3 years older?"
