I'm glad you're getting enjoyment out of it and by all means, do what makes you happy, but man, I do not understand the Brenthon/badge swapping interest on here.

I like the "keep em guessing" aspect of a rebadge. I say to heck with people who don't get, do what makes you smile. After all you're the one making the payments.

Might have something to do with the fact that the admin on this forum resells their products...

Well, perhaps, but it seems to be shared with the other palisade forums as well. Also seems to be a thing with the Korean cars in general. I just don't get it.

Me neither, but that's OK. To each their own.

Many people are under the impression that only Hyundai and Kia owners rebadge. Those people aren't familiar with how long Chevy owners have been rebadging to Holden and Buick owners have been rebadging to Opel. It's just a way to set your car apart from all the other similar vehicles on the road...
True, although Holden and Opel are real brands and they're generally mimicking a model available in other markets.

Not saying there is a problem with doing the rebadging on the Hyundais, but it isn't quite the same thing.

I don't understand the simple badge cover-up either. I mean if Brenthon made custom wheels, grills, or other custom packages, then, yeah, I would understand. Heck, even if it were a separate model say like re-badging a VW Jetta as a VW Bora, then, again I would get it. But this is simply hiding the fact that it is a Hyundai. No offense intended, I just don't get it I guess...

As to what I did for my wife's Palisade today...Installed a set of OEM all weather mats and the OEM cargo netting and first aid kit.

I don't understand people who add a first aid kit. In 38 years of driving I've never needed one. What injuries are others experiencing? LOL

I've used my first aid kit many times while out and about. Generally, it's just a bandaid or something I need though.

Is there anyone who has NOT gotten a first aid kit? It appears that this is one of the accessories that they decided to add to every car.

I am a former US Navy Corpsman...I carry a first aid kit in every vehicle I own. In my FJ Cruiser, I have my Unit One kit that I carried in the Navy, in my Benz, the first aid kit came stock with the vehicle and in the Palisade, the dealer included it.

Always a good idea to carry one in your vehicle.

Mine didn't come with one (although I've been putting together my own to keep in the car)

This is a bit unique but I kinda dig it. I've done debadging (where there aren't holes behind the badges). I have also painted badges black to complete a look.IMO this is kinda hiding the true brand and having people wondering. If I decide to do the brenthon or the other rebadge it wouldn't be because I'm embarassed of a hyundai but rather because I don't really like the flying H.

Are SOME people trying to hide the fact that they drive a Hyundai? Maybe. Most are not. If they were - they'd also remove the "Sonata" badge - or the "Optima" badge from their Kia. A Sonata is obviously a Hyundai. An Optima is obviously a Kia. Just like PALISADE is obviously a Hyundai - TELLURIDE is obviously a Kia. People simply don't like the design of the badges - and want something that looks nicer. It's not automatically "they're ashamed of driving a Hyundai"...

But there's an argument to be made that if you're proud of Hyundai and the car, you would want people to know what it is...

It's ironic that a few months ago when I saw my first Telluride in the wild (in a parking lot that is), as I spotted the owners unlocking the car to get in, I gave them some prompts and they excitedly had me walk over and check it out. The first hing they pointed out was that they ordered some special type of kia badging that has a fancy K shaped emblems instead of the 'KIA'. You guys might know what it is but I hadn't ever heard of it. I guess it's an actual Kia badge used overseas which is a little different but it looked pretty good.

I hear what you're saying - but the car that get rebadged mostly - the Kia Optima - is a very well-known car. Everybody knows what it is. Again, if you don't remove the "Optima" badge - who's being fooled? An eye-catching vehicle like the Palisade - everybody is going to know what it is - it's only a matter of time.

Here's why I'm so "with" the idea of rebadging... I live in South Florida and live near an outdoor mall named "City Place". For years, the Genesis Coupe and Sedan were sitting outside in the main area. Hyundai actually did this at a lot of places down here... I hang out at City Place quite a bit - and did so during this time.

I spoke with a lot of people about the two cars sitting there. Every time I either arrived or left, I'd bump into people walking around the two vehicles - and I'd start a conversation. Oh, and guess what? The dealership had the winged Genesis badges on them. Nowhere did they say Hyundai.

Here's what happened... When I told people they were made by Hyundai too quickly - they lost interest right away. Some people were even embarrassed to have liked them! Just like Lexus when people learned they were made by Toyota years ago...

If I allowed people to walk around the car - and didn't say anything until they were already convinced enough to research later - and walking away - by then it was too late. They had already fallen in love with one of the cars. Even after they learned the car was made by Hyundai, they were surprised, but impressed.

The people who I told too quickly never gave either car a chance... Rebadges tend to allow people who may not normally "take" to a brand, to become comfortable enough with it that they change their way of thinking. This is how you win people over into a brand that's not well-known to be desirable...

There are two types. Once "K" is called KLexus, or Kia 3.0... It's aftermarket and modeled after the Lexus badge. The other type is called "Vintage K". That's an official Kia design and was used in Europe... The Vintage K uses two-lines for the top portion of the K. Some people like to call it "broken K"...

No, there simply isn't, suggesting the two are inextricably linked is a sophomoric assessment at best.

Considering your disdain for the practice, I am not surprised by this post, certainly considering your very first response to this thread was to accuse the site owner of shilling. While it was not as passive aggressive at sax's first post, there it is.

I get it though, you and sax can't leave it alone.

Way to hijack the thread, btw, your horses look tired.

Apparently I'm very lucky. I've never had a flat tire, nor have I ever needed a first aid kit in a vehicle. I drive around 40K miles a year for work so it's not the lack of travel. I have however been involved in 14 car accidents and been hit by 2 different drunk drivers. So not entirely lucky. But, I've never had an airbag deployment.

The hell’s your problem? It’s a forum. People post opinions. I don’t give a crap whether you agree.

Rebadging is most certainly tied to a perceived stigma about Hyundai’s name for a lot of people. Maybe not for you but for many, it is.

It’s a fact that this forum’s admin resells these parts. It’s not an accusation - merely a fact. It’s obvious that it would have an impact on how much this is being talked about on here.

If you want a forum where everyone agrees with you, open your own. Or leave. Meanwhile, I’ll express my opinions whether YOU like it or not. The fact that you take them as personal attacks instead of a discussion on the merits of rebadging says a lot about you.
