Doesn't matter what kind of car it is, automatic car washes are terrible for the paint/etc. Of course, it's a personal choice whether the convenience is worth it for your and how much you care about preserving your car's body/paint, but yeah. There is nothing to be "disappointed" about, the Palisade isn't any more different (as in, any more "sensitive" to automatic car washes) than any/most other cars. Automatic washes are bad news for cars, period.
My carwash puts blue painters tape over the antenna fin on the roof. Says these tend to pop off Hyundai's. Otherwise, remember to shut the auto windshiled wiper before entering the was. I have no problems with a car wash!Is it safe to take the Palisade through a car wash?
Got a new Palisade Limited over the weekend. The sales guy said specifically not to take it through any car washes with the spinners / or long cloth dangle strips. He said they've seen problems with the side view mirror sensors getting messed up. The side mirrors don't fold inward, and the pressure apparently isn't good for the sensors. I guess I'll need to search for a new place to get my car washed in my area.
Daily car washes? Ouch.I take mine through a car wash daily. FYI be sure that you have disengaged Auto Start or your wheels will lock up on the track. Also, disengage the AUTO windshield wipers, and lastly, my place puts a piece of blue painters tape across the fin antenna, as they have said some have come off during the wash. During the times they have not done this, I have never experienced an issue, nor have I ever experienced a mirror sensor issue other than the one thing left off our vehicles was electric folding mirrors which ticks me off!

I dont see why not. But being a brand new vehicle I would probably stay away from automated car wash for awhile. paintjob takes a beating through that.
