Car wash

I dont see why not. But being a brand new vehicle I would probably stay away from automated car wash for awhile. paintjob takes a beating through that.

I have the same question. I just read the owner's manual, and it says not to go through any car wash with the wheel scrubbers. Apparently, it ruins the coating on the wheels. This is disappointing, as I was planning to buy a monthly unlimited car wash pass.

Doesn't matter what kind of car it is, automatic car washes are terrible for the paint/etc. Of course, it's a personal choice whether the convenience is worth it for your and how much you care about preserving your car's body/paint, but yeah. There is nothing to be "disappointed" about, the Palisade isn't any more different (as in, any more "sensitive" to automatic car washes) than any/most other cars. Automatic washes are bad news for cars, period.

It isn't safe to take any car through an automated car wash. They all do damage.

This! You're better off leaving it dirty. I can handle a full touchless spray tunnel but even that is reclaimed water and harsh soaps. The dealer threw in complimentary swirl marks on our Palisade and I have to polish it all out. We should have a 'Detailing' section or Detailing thread. I used to do this as a side hobby/job.

Is it safe to take the Palisade through a car wash?
My carwash puts blue painters tape over the antenna fin on the roof. Says these tend to pop off Hyundai's. Otherwise, remember to shut the auto windshiled wiper before entering the was. I have no problems with a car wash!

Got a new Palisade Limited over the weekend. The sales guy said specifically not to take it through any car washes with the spinners / or long cloth dangle strips. He said they've seen problems with the side view mirror sensors getting messed up. The side mirrors don't fold inward, and the pressure apparently isn't good for the sensors. I guess I'll need to search for a new place to get my car washed in my area.

I take mine through a car wash daily. FYI be sure that you have disengaged Auto Start or your wheels will lock up on the track. Also, disengage the AUTO windshield wipers, and lastly, my place puts a piece of blue painters tape across the fin antenna, as they have said some have come off during the wash. During the times they have not done this, I have never experienced an issue, nor have I ever experienced a mirror sensor issue other than the one thing left off our vehicles was electric folding mirrors which ticks me off!

Daily car washes? Ouch.

Car Washes tend to use harsh chemicals and stiff brushes to help remove the dirt quickly and effectively, especially on wheels. This also has a tendency to remove the protective clear coating on the wheels (and even on other parts of the car). This benefits the car wash shop in that the wheels get cleaned effectively (so no customer complaints that car is still dirty after running through the wash), and the car needs to be cleaned more often because the protective clear coats is worn off by the harsh automatic car washes.

Most wheels these days have clear coating applied at the factory, and they should be waxed frequently with a synthetic polymer car wax (any decent brand will do).

My car wash company puts a piece of blue masking tape across the antenna fin, puts the rear washer blade into a plastic disposable sleeve, and you must shut off the "auto" windshield wipers. They have informed me that the tape is necessary as some of the fin covers have come off under the pressure of the brushes. When I drive in, I ask for an attendant to be at the exit to flip my mirrors back into driving position, because Hyundai forgot to make the mirrors electrically closing!!

My carwash puts a piece of blue masking tape over the antenna fin, as they say several have fallen off due to the brushes. They also put the rear wiper blade in a plastic sleeve. I have to remember to shut the "auto" windshield washers off. Most annoying is that I must ask for an attendant to meet me at the end, to put the rear view mirrors back into place, as Hyundai neglected to make them fold and open electronically. Otherwise, no problems at all and I do this at least twice per week.

Had my Genesis Ultimate Ceramic coated and bought a electric power washer ,I spray / soak her with the recommended mild car wash soap then power rinse it off followed by drying with microfiber towels. No automatic car wash’s for my girl.lol and she looks and feels like new.
Been 6 months and water still beads up and runs right off....
