I just drove almost an hour to a dealer who shows 52 Palisades in inventory on their wewb site. Got there, and none are actually in stock. I was able to put down a deposit on the one I was mainly looking at... it should actually arrive within 6 weeks. So there's that!

I believe that Hyundai dealers will show vehicles on their website that are on the way, either committed to their dealership or to another dealer in the region that they might be able to get diverted to them.

Welcome to the forum
Must have gone to Larry Miller Hyundai in Peoria.
I know they pull that crap on everyone and will tell you they have it in stock over the phone
Get there and it is on the way.
Yet service dept. is the worse part of buying from them
They do negotiate on pricing, but then try to addon everything in the world
If that is who you are using, just stick to your guns and get what is best for you

A lot of dealers do that. About 10 years ago I called a Hyundai dealer 40 miles away to see if they had a Genesis in a certain color, and they said yes. When I got there, no such car. The number one rule of selling cars is to get the customer into the dealership, and don't let them leave (they will play tricks on you like saying they can't find the keys to your trade-in after they did a test drive on it).

LOL yes! Problem is, nobody else in the Valley even claims to have inventory. I know I saw some at San Tan Hyundai, but they have a couple of Calligraphys and I think some SELs. I want Limited... I'm not paying m ore for the ugly-ass wheels of the Calligraphy.

Yeah, I'm aware of that old trick :-D Wouldn't trade a car in unless I absolutely had to.

And FWIW, they were not trying to "get people into the dealership"... they didn't try to sell anything! I said I wanted a Palisade Limited AWD, and they didn't even try "Take a look at..." There was a sharp looking GV70 on the floor, but I'm not paying $65K+!

At least I have a deposit on a car I want.

Did you call them first to check availability? Hopefully it wasn’t a long drive lol.

He said the drive was almost an hour. I mentioned above that I called a dealer to verify a certain color was available on their lot when I bought my Hyundai Genesis awhile ago, but it wasn't there when I got there (and they hadn't sold any Genesis models that day).

Sounds like you were lied to. I would’ve had a good word with the sales manager.

I bought a Genesis G90 ultimate from them, never again for both them and the Genesis.
I switch to Chapman on bell, much better service. They have a center close to joliver but
not sure of their service there

I think San Tan Hyundai is closest to me. But they have no inventory. Nor does anyone else.

If anyone happens to find a Limited AWD with black interior in Moonlight Cloud, Steel Graphite, maybe Rainforest, maybe white anywhere near Phoenix, LMK!

Have you tried Chapman hyundai north phoenix. I think they have a couple of limited's
Saw them when I had an oil change.
Give Rafael Felix a call at 602-866-6179
or try his cell at 909-609-5594
Tell him Gene said call him, he will tell you the truth about if they have what you want or not
No bull shit with him
They also have a place in Scottsdale where you can get service.
Go to their web site and see if anything is what you might want.
Just make sure it is the north Phoenix web site.

Dealers can find one located at another dealer or on the way using the Hyundai computers (if they exist, and if the other dealer is willing trade, which is unlikely). It is easier to get dealers to trade inventory when it comes down to color, etc, but when they are scarce not many dealers would agree to give one up.

I bought mine from Larry Miller Hyundai, but from Albuquerque. You can try them. I dealt with a Kelly, and zero issues. Well, the SUV wasn't ready when I arrived after a 4-hr trip, but that's typical. At least it was there, and right off the truck, with just a handful of miles, like promised. Good luck.

Autos arriving from overseas usually have a few more miles on the OD by the time they are delivered to the dealer, due to having to drive them onto and off the boat, and to the storage areas at port of entry.

Indeed. I've only bought motorcycles with '0' miles. My new cars right off the truck have always had from 3 to 7. The Pali had 7, but service put 5 to test it out, so got it with 12. But others might have less or more than mine; perfectly normal.

I'm curious to punch my 2-month-old 2021 Calligraphy with 1,900 miles on Carvana, or another of those sites, just to see how much they offer for it. Not going to sell it, but just curious. Ha ha. Has anybody else with a 2021 done that? :) Read that some Calligraphy Palis are selling $10K and more over MSRP, but I don't believe anybody would be that stupid to pay that much.

Not a 2021, but my 2020 Limited with 7k miles currently is going for $48,900. Problem is, I cannot find a 2021 Limited or Calligraphy for anything less than $500 off MSRP. I have reached out to about 10 dealers in a 100 mile radius at this point. Some even had the nerve to tell me they had a +$5k market adjustment on it. I just laughed in their face.

There is federal laws that state when vehicles are built that they have to run every gear to a certain speed (I can't remember if it is 55mph or another number) and also reverse to a certain speed. They have a device they drive the vehicle onto for this test that is like a dynomometer for the test and then they drive them off the line and into a yard for shipping either by train, truck, or ship.

I toured a few factories and saw it in action and found it interesting. That is part of the way they get the 3 - 7 miles on the odometer.

Do you have a link for that? Never heard of it, unless they are doing some emission testing.
