It seems like with all the sensors present in the Palisade that it ought to be able to manage some kind of parallel parking assist like the Ford Explorer. That is one item that makes me nervous about ordering the first year's model. It seems like something they would add in a year or two.

Agreed, but personally not a fan of autonomous parking systems and it will drive up costs.

I'd be curious to see how well it scores when NHTSA perform their crash testing. IIHSA top safety pick+ award, I bet.

It's just my opinion, but something like a missing autonomous parking feature would not hold me back. They don't always work all that well. Even the S-Class rubs tires/wheels against the curb when parking. There's a review about it on YouTube. I'm sure it does well some of the time - but not every time. To me, it's not worth the risk. I'd rather park myself...

With the Surround View Monitor, it should be pretty dang easy to park in tight spaces as it is. My wife and I have been talking about it. I'm used to parallel parking a bigger car, and she parallel parks like, 3 times a year...so I think I'll live.

This is very true. Those 360-degree cameras make it really easy to park safely...
