2020 Limited.
Purchased the limited and the only thing i cant stand is where they put the wireless charger. I wish this car came with wireless car play because it doesn't make sense to have car play data port and wireless charge next to each other.

The 2021 models (which have started showing up at dealerships) have wireless CarPlay on the low-end infotainment screen. If you have the larger screen with navigation (or a 2020 model), wired is the only way to go.

EDIT: I know it doesn't change anything for you, since you already have your car. Just posting this so people looking to buy are aware of the changes for 2021.
 
What we've done is put one phone on the wireless charger and the other one, which is connected to the data port, on top of it. The one on the wireless charger is connected via Bluetooth, the other one CarPlay. It works.

Haven't had any heat issues with either phone doing that, but we haven't yet driven for very long in general, thanks to COVID. It's easily solved though: just move the top phone.
 
My iPhone will get hit plugged into the data port sometimes. I put the phone down next to my thigh/knee on the ventilated seat to cool it a bit. Lol
I do have to move my leg to keep my leg from warming the phone, but I’ve got skinny legs so it’s not a big problem.
 
That's being pretty picky... You can actually run the cord for the USB anywhere... Plug into the seats or plug into the carplay and run the cord through the opening on the lower storage.

So there is a device that does work. The problem is you have it connected to your data port.

These will work identically.

As far as your car is concerned, there is a phone plugged in. Steering wheel controls will work just as always for CarPlay, although you may notice a very small delay in reaction time. But you don’t have to plug your phone in, so well worth it.

CarPlay2Air is on sale for Black Friday right now, it’s only $99.
 
How long does it take to get the CarPlay2Air? I ordered 2 on Dec 3rd and haven't seen any movement from them yet.

Thank you. Coming from China. I keep checking the "Shop" app and it has a USPS shipping number, but says the USPS hasn't received the item yet. There must be a handoff there that has not happened yet. I feel a little better. Still not confident that I will get it in time for Christmas.

Check your email you received when it was shipped. It should be a tracking number from SFC (Send From China). That will show you its entire progress.

Thanks! Not sure how I missed that. Looks like they were stuck in customs for a few days, but I think they are released now. Good news!
 
Mine actually was sitting in my mailbox since Saturday. hahaha

I'll set it up tomorrow. Any quirks or tricks I should know about for the setup?

Yep. Stand on one leg while bouncing up and down, but only if it's a full moon.
Or...maybe not.

My install with Carplay2 went pretty smooth. Followed instructions, done.

I agree... the outlet is in a terrible location and the cord takes up most of the space. I bet they change this in future model's
 
The instructions are terrible. Got it set up easily enough though.

There is a slight lag for the initial morning startup and I noticed the interface looks a little different for Spotify, but it all works and it’s nice of course to not have to wire the phone.

I will Velcro the dongle to the top of the cave, just above the charging pad.
