Well, I think most here will tell you to lean towards the palisade. Realistically though, they're very similar vehicles. Go with whichever speaks to you the most.

Please let us know what questions you have! I made the decision that I thought was the best for me, but it was a very difficult decision, and I’m happy to give you unbiased information on the differences between the two vehicles.

Hi everyone! I'm going back and forth trying to figure out which suv I want to replace my 2016 Sorento. I was convinced the Telluride was for me, but now I'm leaning toward the Palisade. I have plenty of reading to do.
Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! :)

Not an easy decision and there is not bad decision. If you ask this same question on the Telluride forum you will probably receive a majority vote for the Telluride based mostly on subjective opinions. The deciding factor for most buyers since the availability of the Palisade has been styling both interior and exterior. My wife and I were completely sold on Kia Telluride SX AWD Prestige (Palisade not available at the time) until Kia stopped taking orders abruptly back in April/May. Enter the Palisade. Early on my wife and I were not sure of the styling (external), but after seeing it in person it definitely became an option. The videos and photos on the internet really did not do it justice. It has a bold look that some may or may not like. In the end my wife decided on the Palisade (Graphite Steel, black leather, AWD, Limited), but she would have been just as happy with the Telluride.

Thank you everyone! I keep reading how the Telluride is more rugged. I'm not very rugged  so I think the softer one will be better for me.
I'm going to leave the more rugged to marketing. (y) I believe this was intentional by Hyundai and Kia as not to have one cannibalize the other. There may be objected differences why one may fit for off-road more so than the other. Maybe others can speak to this as it was not a consideration in the buying decision. This whole "rugged" thing is purely a look IMO.

After more reading I've come to the same conclusion. I think the ruggedness is more in the appearance than anything.

The two vehicles have slightly different treatments to the suspension, with the palisade having a little higher spec equipment. As such, the telluride will feel a little stiffer driving and the palisade slightly softer. That's about it as far as actual performance difference.
