MSRP 46,320$
Agreed on 45,320$
DId not buy any additional warranty
San Diego, CA
enjoy the car!
Is this out the door or did they add taxes and fees on top of that 45,320?

We just bought ours at Fort Mill Hyundai, Palisade Limited FWD, the internet price was the sticker price of 45995 which was what made us go there. But once we got there they added 2K in market adjustment and another 1k in tint, paint coating and wheel locks. Told the service manager were not interested because of the market adjustment and the additional add-ons. He worked with us after some talking and about to leave and ended up buying the Palisade for the listed sticker price after he took off market adjustment. This car just came in as it still had the plastic on the seats.
I'm also in Charlotte looking to buy a limited

I'm struggling with fort Mill Hyundai currently. They have it listed at 46,320 and want me to pay 49k for it. NOPE...

did you go in person?? That’s what we did, the addition market is ridiculous, we told them we would pay the markup, he said ok and re-ran the number and gave us the sticker price.

I didn't go in person but I'm not willing to pay MSRP for it.

Ok gotcha, technically we didn’t either, I had to do some digging to get some other rebates from them that they didn’t ask us about. I received the $500 First responder rebate and also the $400 College graduate rebate, plus the $40 for the test drive. So actually we got it 45000 before taxes and etc.

Does the college grad have to be recent?

Also, I'm assuming that's before taxes and fees right
Yes that price was before taxes and fees, you can go to the hyundais website to find out the details on it but I believe it has to be within a year of graduating

If you paid MSRP minus incentives, you paid MSRP.

If you paid MSRP AFTER incentives, your vehicle was marked up and you paid over MSRP.

This is what I keep being told about the limited...

He is getting the price directly from the Manager. The white with beige we had worked on just sold! We still have a black that we can trade at another store but we really can not move that low on price. No Hyundai dealership can right now until we get rebates. Would you like me to let you know as soon as we get them?

What he is actually saying is "I am not willing to go lower on price, but I don't want you to cross shop other dealers, so I'm going to claim they won't either"

I agree but it's all I've been told for the past few days from any dealership I talk to no matter what state they are from

You can always make them an offer of what you're willing to pay. The dealer I got mine from took an offer about $1600 lower than what they offered me. Worst thing they can do is say no.

Out of curiosity, how do you word your initial e-mails when making an offer?

I went to each dealers websites and try to get emails of the internet managers or sales managers directly as those are the one that can make decisions. If you end up involved with a regular commission sales men it will be harder to negotiate as they will get a cut of the sale. Don’t waist your time, only talk to a sale manager.

Below is a sample email I sent to all the dealers. I got all my numbers from Edmound.com. By now they are outdated and it is my understanding that prices have increased.

“ Good morning (Dealership name) team.

My name is _______ I am interested in the Hyundai palisade VIN# KM8R5DHE1LU082846

I will like to buy the vehicle today Out of the Door keys in hand for $44,600 + TTL

To break down the offer.

Dealer invoice price is $43,980
First resp incentive is -$500
Hyundai value owner -$500
total dealer invoice ________
after discounts = $42,980

Added features @ Invoice:
-carpeted floor mats, +$120
-cargo net. +$35
-Cargo tray. +$115
-splash trim. +$95

Freight transport charge: +$1095

Additional dealer profit: +160

_________
Totaling my offer of $44,600 + TTL

I think this is a very fair offer not including the 3% dealers holdbacks and manufacture to dealer direct incentives. on top of that as soon I drive off the lot the vehicle decrease in value and approximately be worth $41,000 private sale or much less.

I have secured financing, but if it helps breach any gaps I am willing to finance through you as long as it matches or beat my current interest rate offer.

Let me know if we got a deal and I’ll buy the vehicle today. “
