TSB 19-BD-010H for Whistling / Wind Noise

I have an appointment for seals to be replaced after trying multiple different hinge and fun weld adjustments. I was told these seals have a different part number so we'll see if it solves it... taking it with a grain of salt until confirmed working.

Update?

Same part number, not new. I feel the dealer may not have been truthful so I don't keep coming back with it. Was noticing wind noise the first road I pulled onto out of the service department doing 45 mph. Just went on a 3hr road trip each way and wind noise is highly evident still. Will try soap leak test tomorrow and respond to consumer affairs that I am not satisfied.

I honestly don't feel hyundai will fix this. There is no clear communication at hyundai and as someone else said that this may be considered the character of a hyundai...

Anybody tried installing wind deflectors above front windows to see if that helps??

The warranty that is so highly touted is only as good as the company that provides it.
I have suggested in the past, that if the noise is unbearable, take it to a top rate body shop.Explain and demonstrate your concern.Perhaps for a few dollars and some time your problem may be resolved.Good luck.

I would take it to an auto stereo shop. They are experienced in taking apart door panels, etc and adding sound deadening material, and if you explain the symptoms they might be able to help.

Agree another great option, sure cannot hurt.

You know that this TSB was cancelled because it didn't work?

I did not know that. Thanks for the feedback.
do you know if there are replacement TSB for the wind/noise problem?
Several of us owners went and fixed our wind issues on our own, and glad we figured it out since Hyundai hasn’t

Dealer is trying to fix wind noise problem by installing the following parts:

Door Weather-Strip - Hyundai (82130-S8000)

Weather-Strip On Body - Hyundai (82110-S8000)

What was your fix solution?

there are other threads on wind noise and if you look back (try to find the threads consisting of several pages) you'll see where owners have used 3/8" and 1/4" closed seal foam "rope" to stuff inside window seal channels and gaps. Since doing it, I have gone from having a wind whistle and cross wind noise to having no wind noises at all.

My local dealer had offered to replace the window seals, but seeing that the seals themselves have not been redesigned and the part number remains the same, I didn't want to waste my time dealing with additional dealer visits. I am 100% completely happy (ecstatic actually) about fixing this issue myself.

My temporary fix for wind noise from the driver side door:

TL;DR: Adjust the ventilation to use recirculated air

We bought a 2021 Palisade in mid-December and almost immediately went on a cross-country Christmas road trip. On the way home, we experienced some windy conditions (driving by the Windy City, as it happened). We checked this forum and found that lots of people had similar problems. I discovered, like many others, that putting some pressure on the door with my arm would make it go away.

It occurred to me that using recirculated air would cause the cabin to become a static pressure chamber, possibly making it more difficult for air to ingress/egress through the door, which causes that whistling noise. Turning on recirc immediately stopped the noise, and turning it off caused the noise to resume. The car has features to automatically switch to fresh air. We disabled these.

My problems seem to only occur when going 75+ in windy conditions. Perhaps this won't work so well for those of you experiencing the problem at slower speeds. Since we have a working fix, we'll probably hold off on trying to get a dealer to service it for a while unless it worsens.

I hope this helps someone out there.

do a search on this site and the other palisade forum and you'll find several threads about wind noise, and yes, putting it in Recirc mode is an easy temp fix.

you can possibly fix this issue yourself. I did and I can drive with recirc mode off or on with no difference now, and no more wind whistles (even when hit with a big crosswind).

Ah OK. We searched for solutions and didn't see that one posted, but I'm glad others found it too. Thanks!

My dealer offered to replace the window seals, but since they haven’t redesigned the part I wasn’t confident enough new seals would fix the issue so I declined. Now that I’ve fixed the noise completely myself I won’t be needing to waste my time having the dealer swap out seals, adjust doors, or worse, tell me They All Do That so live with it!
The other dealer near me actually told me over the phone that all their Palisades exhibit wind noise and whistles so they consider it normal unless Hyundai comes up with a fix. WOW 🙄

I purchased my Palisade about a month ago and have not noticed any type of whistle noise at any speed 50-75

So first trip in the Palisade, WOW! Driver side whistle when the wind is coming from the driver side of the car. We don't seem to have any wind or whistling when there is no wind, tailwind or headwind. When to the dealership this morning and played them the video of the noise we listen to for 2+ hours of our 4 hour trip. We tried rolling the window up and down, opening and closing the door no luck. When we would go into a valley, where the wind was blocked the sound would go away. The other thing was as the road curved from the west bound direct to the north the sound went away. So it seems to be a Flute effect. The dealership initially told us there was no solution and Hyundai was looking into the problem. On the way home, the dealership called and side there was a new(?) TSB for the noise. My questions are has anyone had the TSB for the hole(s) in the mirror work to fix this problem and is this really a new TSB?
