My Palisade
2020 Limited.
74 miles on the Palisade and the windshield met a rock. What a bummer.

Sorry...do you feel the impact was sufficient to do the damage ? There have been concerns regarding windshield breakage.
Please keep us informed regarding your course of action..good luck feel for ya.

I mean it’s starting to spider already. I will need to have it replaced I will assume. I’ll take it to safelite in the morning and see what they think.

Can't hurt to take some photos..maybe your selling dealer could help..or Hyundai good will replacement..can't hurt to ask..
 
Check with your insurance company. Some policies have no-deductible windshield replacement, and/or free repairs (if it can be repaired without being replaced).

Yea if they’re small you can use a do it yourself kit to fix em. I’ve done it a couple of times and they work great, but yours is looking pretty much beyond that with the cracks extending out from the impact site. Bummer. I know in Florida by law the insurance companies have to replace windshields at no deductible I believe once per year.
 
Wow! That is a bummer.
You probably know this, but just in case. Remember that the windshield is, I forget exactly what it is called, double layered sound deadening glass or something to that effect. Hopefully Safelite will replace it with similar. Or better than Hyundai's crack prone glass!

Yes, I know where my State Farm agent would recommend uses a different brand than Hyundai. Would that likely be superior to the OEM windshield, or do you think it's other factors with the Palisade/Telluride windshield issues other than glass quality?

It depends on whether an after-market windshield meets the same specs with regard to sound absorption and other features such as automatic windshield wipers or other electronics that have sensors built into the windshield.

Insurance companies will always recommend the cheapest parts, but they don't all meet specs, especially on a relatively new model.

Allstate is pretty good with letting you get OEM parts again.

Thanks! Honestly I'll try my dealer first if I need mine replaced. Hoping Hyundai will replace like Kia is.
 
That looks like a big rock hit. Some of the other broken windshield hits have looked like much smaller strikes. Curious to hear what your dealer has to say.
Would be nice if Hyundai started a good will replacement policy.

I submitted a case with Hyundai's Consumer Assistance Center. I cant believe this happened on day 1.

If you want to pay for it, you can go to your dealer first. If you have insurance that covers all or part of the cost, contact your insurance company first. If the insurance company is paying, you need to make sure that whatever vendor they use will provide an OEM quality product, with sound absorption and other features that may be embedded in the windshield (see below).

The MSRP of the Palisade OEM windshields are as follows (part only, does not include labor):
  • Without head up display and without auto defog is $711.
  • Without head up display and with auto defog is $792.
  • With head up display and with auto defog is $1,419.
